Album cover for Caraphernelia album cover

Caraphernelia Lyrics

Sunshine;
There ain't a thing that you can do that's gonna ruin my night
(But there's just something about)
This dizzy dreamer and her bleeding little blue boy
Licking your fingers like you're done and
You've decided there is so much more...

After doing some research I found that Caraphernelia is actually a disease in which your heart is broken and there are consent reminders of that pain where ever you look.

Caraphernelia is a broken-heart disease where somebody leaves you but leaves all of their things behind. I don't think it has anything to do with a girl named Cara mixed with another word.

He refers to the person he loves as a dizzy dreamer, and to her new love interest as her bleeding little blue boy because he is still scarred from his loss. I side with an earlier commenter on the meaning of "I brought a gun as the preacher tired to stop me," and I think this talks of him coming to the wedding brandishing a weapon and telling his love that he cannot deal with her being with another.

She wants him to leave her alone, and keeps telling him to forget her, but he can't because all of her stuff is around his house. Only at this point, as in Bulletproof Love, his affections have reached obsession. "I'll burn your name into my throat" refers to his commitment with her, yet he wanted to make her hurt now that she's left him ("I'll be the fire that will catch you"). He knows that he should "pick up the pieces" and move on with his life, but he can't seem to do so because he relied on her to be there. Now, none of the things that used to make him happy can anymore.

The next bit of the song is him realizing that he is a dispicable person, or perhaps repeating it to himself.

During the second chorus, we get a "Give her back to me. You know I can't afford the medicine that feeds what I need." This could be a reference to him needing therapy/help or perhaps needing somebody else to love.

He thinks she is throwing him away, although he is so devoted, and finally he wonders... is his life even worth picking up the pieces of?

he meets a girl in which he really likes and loves so much. but she leaves him, maybe even cheated and she's some dizzy little dreamer with this bleeding little blue boy. hes just all over her like she's done with the past and that there is so much more than vic. its hard for vic. he's pretending like he doesn't care but he really keeps trying to make himself known. its like seeing your failed love somewhere, you ignore them but start changing your behaviotr to make them known. he just cant forget her. its like this evil crazy obsession. he wants to burn her name into his throats and kill her, be the fire that'll catch her. he feels like theres nothing good about picking up the pieces! because somtimes we dont feel any point in fixing ourselves at all. and that whole thing with hjaving a gun and the preacher tried to stop him. shes trying to get married to that guy. THAT REALLY HURTS. So he has the gun. "Hold my heart, its beating for you anyway." In a way she should just take his heart even if she doesnt want it. he'd want to die along with him. he's ruining himself and killing himself for her. in the end he's still her martyr like always, not really helping himself.

I think this song is about his ex girlfriend named Cara that left some things of her's at his house and he sees her stuff and it reminds him of her. he wonders why it had to end and it's killing him. his heart still loves her but he wants her to feel the pain he felt. ''What's so good about picking up the pieces?'' meaning he doesn't know what to do with his life and sees no point without her.

They actually made "Caraphernelia" the new word instead of her name and drug being separate. Now anytime someone leaves their stuff behind and cheats on you they call it caraphernelia.

    WORDS FROM VIC:
The last time I saw my ex-girlfriend, she left all kind of random things behind at my house: trvael shampoo, a razor in the shower, hair clips, etc. It was basically just a bunch of stuff that kept me reminding me of her, After a while, it made me miss her, and I wondered why we ever broke up in the first place. When I wrote th emusic for the chorus, I knew right away that I wanted to ask my friend Jeremy McKinnon (of A Day To Rememeber) to do the screaming parts on the chorus and bridge. A few weeks after I wrote the song, I approached Jeremy with the idea and he agreed to sing on the album, It turned out to be one of my favorite tracks once we collaborated. One of my favorite things to do is make music with my friends. That collaboration makes the songs very special to me.

I've seen that Caraphernelia is a mix of the female name Cara, and the word paraphnelia, which means miscellaneous articles, especially the equipment needed for a particular activity. Making Caraphernelia mean random objectsthat was left behind from Cara. The song shows the pain a boy goes through when he has been cheated on by his girlfriend. How everything reminds him of her and its killing him, and he would do anything to get revenge on her, and the other guy. He's given up all hope of moving on from her, stuck between loving her with all he's got, and wanting her to pay, feel the pain he feels, and he knows he's not able to move on. Altogether, the song is about not being able to move on from a relationship, no matter how bitter it ended, Vic probably has hidden meanings all throughout the song and this is just my interpretation of his song. I hope this helps.

the interpretation of the song is that she cheated on him while he was away. hence why the phones are out. then he finds out wanting to break up but his heart wont let him. his heart is still in love with her. they got into an argument and they broke up but the memories of them together are killing him.

I believe this song is about being cheated on while in a long distance relationship. Say in this case it was the girl who cheated. She shattered the boys heart and its incredibly painful for him. She left him and now he has to pick up the pieces of his heart and he's trying to be strong. The only person that he will let see that he is truly broken is his mother. Everything he does or sees reminds him of her.

I think it means he can't forget all the stuff they have done together and loves her so much he would burn her name in his throat or even kill himself. He still loves her a lot even though she left him but he still has the pain of her in his memories and all around him he sees her

his girlfriend left him but left some of her belongings behind. Cara was her name & he was so in love that she was basically his infatuation. He was lost & addicted to her love it became is "drug". Paraphernalia is a type of drug hence the name Caraphernelia.

I think maybe when he say "don't mind me I'm just reaching for your necklace" could be him trying to strangle her and she notices so he's like nah man I'm not doing anything...

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Vic's(the singer)girlfriend broke up with him and left some stuff at his house."What's so good about picking up the pieces"taking the stuff she left at his house."Don't mind me i'm just reaching for your necklace" might mean he wants her(in this case her necklace)back."What if i can't forget you?"is talking about his longing for her. There is many meanings for these sad lyrics.

This song talks about a girl (his girlfriend, called Cara), who leaves him and leaves her stuff behind, so when he says, "picking up the pieces", he is referring to the paraphernalia of Caroline, (Caroline + Paraphernalia makes the title Caraphernelia).

    The chorus is pretty

Girlfriend breaks up and leaves all her things behind. Now he is "picking up the pieces" with pieces he means the things she left behind."Don't mind me I'm just reaching for your necklace"could be sarcastic towards him wanting her and not the things (in this case her nacklace) she left him with."What if I can't forget you" speaks for his longing for her.

My opinion is that there is a much deeper sense behind these sad lyrics. And a few double meanings, too. In the end every listener has a personal interpretation anyways.
