Pierce the Veil: Drella Meaning
Drella Lyrics
You run your fingers down the glass
An open mirror
Now you're sleeping
In the front seat
Like a crushed leaf
On the concrete night
Murder ring
What are you talking about
Murder ring
And how did you get into my...

I'm pretty sure this song is, at least in part, about a friends w benefits situation that goes south quickly. Even the first verse "You're busy drawing hearts, you run your fingers down the glass an open mirror, now you're sleeping in the front seat like a crushed leaf on the concrete night" The fog of the glass may come from the results of a sexual conquest. I think the next lines up until "but I've been driving you around" are about him falling in love with her, realizing that it's toxic. Then, "but I've been driving you around, I didn't think it could last" he didn't think the relationship could last but they're still going strong, at least sexually. "Broke another bracelet" I believe refers to the jelly bracelet game, where different bracelets are broken to represent different sexual acts that had been performed on the wearer. "tonight the center of the sun will separate in sparks, they're climbing up the sky and down the dark" I think this is just an artistic interpretation of orgasm, then he goes back to "do you think... you better love me back, you said you want someone who actually cares..." He's in love with her, but he's unsure of how she feels outside of sex. "a middle class explosion could be nice if we're the dynamite" just sounds like another euphemism for orgasm, then "now that cinderella's gone, she swallowed up the sun" going back to the original metaphor of orgasm representing the sun, she's swallowing her innocence... and him. "red water leaves us as we collide" I thought that he might've been taking her virginity here, but I'm not sure.
Maybe it's more literal and they got into a car crash. I've always thought of it this way since I was younger. -
It's in some way about Warhol, indirectly

I believe this is a relationship song, drella is a nickname if you look up what it means for a warhol.

I would think that this is more of an interpratation of a relationship gone wrong. I would say, using the 'broke another bracelet' as a reference to breaking of connections to someone or something. With the 'crushed leaf on a concreat night' I always think of it as how a couple had broken up, and he would drive her home, the 'crushed leaf' implying that he felt saddend by the break-up/ broken hearted. With the Cinderella swallowing the sun thing, he could be implying that something so beautiful and joyous made made something sad and miserable.
That's just how I see it. ~Alexandra
