Red: Buried Beneath Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Buried Beneath Lyrics
And so has my heart
The weight of the world has covered me
I’m in over my head
Am I living or dead
Can anyone hear me calling out
I’m calling out
CHORUS
I’m finally breaking
So where are you now
It’s been...

My interpretation of this song is that someone has been going through a lot and reaching to God for help, and guidance. We all have our moments of weakness And we need someone to pull us out

The song is about you growing accustomed and so numb to the sinful ways of the world, that you can't distinguish right from wrong anymore, and soon you won't even care. You finally realize that sin is taking over in your life, and you cry out to God to save you from the darkness that you've grown to be alright with. You conform to hypocritical ways. "I saw the cracks in the walls, I painted over them all. I tried my best to just ignore." You thought you were thriving and felt better by living a sinful life, but it ends up hindering your relationship with God. You're in so deep with sin that the only way to be redeemed is through renewing yourself with Christ and repenting from the worldly ways.
