My interpretation is that the song is all a metaphor of the bible story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden, for a boy that was a player. He started out sweet and ended up not being what she thought. ("Life in Eden changed"). It is possible she lost virginity to him because she said: "idolized my innocence, stole it from me in the end".
She also felt a little trapped for a while "I was cholking on the air in Eden"
This song is beautiful and different. :)
