Shawn Mendes: Stitches Meaning
Stitches Lyrics
But no one's ever left me quite this sore
Your words cut deeper than a knife
Now I need someone to breathe me back to life
Got a feeling that I'm going under
But I know that I'll make it out alive
If I...
-
It is a good song about a hard breakup.
-
I think it is because he broke up he got in a fight and had to get stitches.
-
I think the song is about to be in the relationship with the nationally to be engaged but it’s special place in your heart. We write it with harry, and Philip, they’re producers are my friends. But they’re making us more special songs fir us. Absolutely stunning. Love that ballad.
-
I think the song is so much to me and also we’re going to pick up the album to every place to have this video. But we’re being with someone else to have this recording studio. But we’re recording it for the home studio and stay in the room and also it’s so much fun and absolutely fun songs.
-
When I wrote that song the chorus came out my mind, but I didn’t get stitches, but my dad did he hurt his finger, it had stitches. But when gets better he would start hammering. I would starting to talking to the Jonas brothers but I didn’t told them I used to have nick Jonas album to help him understand. But it’s getting much better, but Jonas brothers are helping out with music and help their record deals. So, thank you Bethany, and Jonas brothers.

Hes wanting to go find his lover and make things right. But hes in hell and a demon is doing everything to scare him from being with her because love is feared in hell. But he knows love is more powerful amd the only way out of hell is to keep going and push past the invisible force- he see's after he was beat, that he wasnt actually beat- it was an illusion- because love always wins. He looks in the mirror and into the camera at the end to tell/show us the auidence, to not be afraid. "We'll make it out alive, lovers always win, always."
-
This song is most definitely about shooting dope even in the video on you tube when he keeps getting knocked down and punched by some invisible thing he just gets right back up and goes at it again and again just like ppl do to get there drugs no where in that video do u ever see a girl.. it’s just him going back to the same self inflicting pain a gain and again until he finally just gives in and stops much like drug addiction

The lyrics and the film clip obviously talk about the hidden reality on Magianism. Magicians tie knots and blow on them when they are casting a curse and "stitches" gives that reference. This practice is where the name wicker comes from because the knots were often used to create a piece of wicker work. There is a price in the next life for practising black magic and "Gonna wind up dead" refers to both his death and the price the demon he worships will extract from him as well as the death of the subject of the curse. Black magic can be fatal and usually presents in the form of an accident; I would expect that the person he is singing about died in a car accident.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I'm a recovering heroin addict and this song makes me so emotional every time. It's definitely about heroin addiction from my point of view.
-
He's feeling hurt and heartbroken. He wants to get over her but it's too hurt.
-
I think this song means that Shawn has been hurt by the one that he loved and he is very heartbroken. He loved her for so long hat he can't get over her. He describes the pain as if he has gotten so hurt that he needs stiches
-
I can really relate to stitches because yesterday my boyfriend broke up with me.I feel like my heart is about to explode.I feel very angry, sad, depressed and and beginning to believe that I will never love anybody ever again. If I do not get help soon I will loose it! Please help! from, Taylor Billups.
-
Definitely he craves that unhealthy relationship but he will overcame those feelings and seek someone who deserves him
-
