Sum 41: Jessica Kill Meaning
Jessica Kill Lyrics
How I've come to feel this way
I'm addicted to the pain even more than words can say
Every hit hurts like your kiss, like a needle to a vein
My last words of this begin:
I want you
She said you don't even...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This is probably going to be a long review but bear with me (it would be great if anyone read it because it will take me a while to write it).
There are two meanings to this song in my eyes.
------------------------------
Meaning 1 (short one): The title "Jessica Kill" refers to a character from the vampire tv series 'True Blood'. In the series, Jessica is a young vampire woman that is in love with an ordinary mortal man. During any romance, Jessica needs to feed off of her love's blood. It is painful for the man but he lets her drain his blood (even though it might kill him) because he loves her. Hence the line, "But I'm okay, just pain me, take it very slow, 'cause I'm in love tonight".
------------------------------
Meaning 2 (this is the long one): The song is a story about a 'masochistic' (it means someone who receives pleasure from pain) couple, they inflict pain on themselves during sex to achieve orgasms. During more and more sexual/masochistic experiences, the couples inflict more and more pain on each other for greater pleasure. Hence, "every hit hurts like your kiss, like a needle to a vein", they become addicted to pain, like a drug. The man in the relationship realizes that they need to stop hurting themselves or one of them could die.
the story/song is written from the man's point of view, in the chorus it seems like the woman is arguing with the man because she wants him to inflict pain on her for sexual pleasure, hence: "She said you don't even know how just so much I need it". She asks "how far will you go?"
He replies, "I just wanna to feel you go/cum". He says that he could accidentally kill her, he knows that it is a bad idea, hence: "Kill maybe, so crazy"
She says back, "But I'm okay, just pain me, take it very slow, 'cause I'm in love tonight". Implying that she doesn't care for the risk, she just wants her sexual high.
The man sees that she is so much more addicted to pain than he is, so he feeds her addiction because he wants her to be happy, hence, "So now that it has come to this, I'll be your dirty little thrill, for the world I wouldn't miss, 'cause I just wanna feel your kiss".
"Show me the difference between love and death, Consider them both as they take your breath". Now the woman's addiction has gotten so severe that she perhaps fantasizes about dying painfully.
after realizing how bad her addiction has gotten, the man puts his foot down, he wants to stop this addiction. Because if she dies, he will not be able to endure the pain her death will bring - he would not be able to resist the pain and turn it into pleasure. Hence the lines "And all of this comes to an end, but I cannot resist your death".
----------------------------
So yeah, those are my two interpretations. If you found this more or less accurate. Please rate it up :) -
Any current and or former addict can confirm that this song is about Derek's alcohol addiction. He's just masking it with sexual references. The majority of underclass hero and screaming bloody murder lyrics have roots in his addiction.
Sin,
An Addict -
I'm sorry but the chorus is clearly about a blowjob.
-
I think it's about S&M, of course. The man is a submissive to the dominant woman who likes to inflict pain on him, which he begins to enjoy the feeling of pain (masochism).
-
I know, I am Jessica.
It's about falling in love with someone and having a deeper connection, but knowing that the timing in life and the experiences and inhibitions that both parties are feeling will ultimately be the death of any sense of relationship or intimacy beyond sex. Sex was the only way a connection was attained, and every aspect surrounding the sexual relationship was completely delineated therefore making it feel cheap, masochistic, and extremely intriguing in an addictive way. How many more times will you have empty nights? -
i think it's about drug use, and how it can be addictive.
-
It's about a girl who's into S&M, and she helps him enter that world too.Feeling and inflicting pain...And he's starting to like it.
-
You guys are so fucking stupid. My True Blood comment was a blatant SARCASTIC comment! Although you wannabe-indie-know-it-all douchebags are always trying to make every song on the plantet something way more complex than it actually is. Just listen to the song dramatic asswipes :)

It's about SM don't be ridicioulus and turn around the facts.

Masochism
-
Slave and master sex?

True Blood;'Jessica' is a Vampire from the show, who is with an innocent man (one whom lets her feed off of him, but she holds back killing him, which she can easily do at any time) But she means well and refuses to kill him, although she has a vicious side (Hello? She's a f*king Vampire)
...I mean, DUH. -
He's in love with a girl that just likes "using" him:
"I just want to feel you cum"
He also likes it because he's like addicted to the girl, even though he feels its wrong because he really does love her:
"Take it slow, cause I'm in love tonight" -
This song is about a guy who has fallen in love with a girl
She tortures him but he doesn't mind and even begins to like it ("I'm addicted to the pain even more than words can say")
