    i heard this song is about someone who basically has screwed themselves over with their addiction to drugs. I think the first 8 lines is the singer talking to the victim of the drug addiction, expressing his concern for him.
    "a voice is all that i can show, that all that i have is a soul". Here the singer is saying that his opinion just shows he truthfully does care about the person he's talking too.

    then the action starts, where the singer says what he needs to say to help the person understand what he's become and how screwed over he's gotten himself to be. This basically is the majority of the song. Until the last part of the song...

    "all that i need is time for me to breath. dream little dreams that only i believe. now that i see beyond the light, im gonna be, i'll be alright." in these lines, the drug addict is speaking. he's saying that with time and hope, he will be able to get through his situation.

    i always thought this song was about an old flame one member of the band has had and realized how much he doesn't like her anymore and being pissed about it THEN writing a song about their fury against said flame.
