Sum 41: Speak of the Devil Meaning
Speak of the Devil Lyrics
Getting better every day
And I got you now I'm not alone
All I need in this life is one
One thing to believe in
I've seen many a face
From young and too old
I've stolen their faith
And I have broken their souls

Starts out he has found someone to believe in who is not a liar...Jesus
Verse 1: He is friends with the devil and maybe even sold his soul not thinking about his days coming to an end when the devil would own his soul, and reunite them in the sick romance.
Verse 2: He has nothing to say to the devil and is a changed person tired of being something hes not. and cant wait to nullify there sick romance.
Then he's getting better every day because he has someone truthful to believe in Jesus.

I thought it was about alcohol. o.O
-
I think it is about alcohol adiction.
-
I think its about a belief in God that he is developing. I know a lot of people don't see it that way. But it totally makes sense to me.
-
I think it's about one of his ex-girlfriends who hurt him before and realized what she's missing when they weren't together, Then they started to see each other again, But she fucked up again, That's all I can get out of my head, But I have a feeling there's a much deeper meaning than that
-
I think, because I'm going through this right now, is about returning to a love who let you down in the past but missing them enough to try again. Then realizing nothing has changed and wanting it all to end again.
-
I think this song is about finally finding faith in something after being surrounded by so much evil. Most of the song seems to be written from the devil's perspective to provide metaphors for the wrongdoing that exists.
