Taylor Swift: Haunted Meaning
Song Released: 2010
Haunted Lyrics
I have known it all this time
But I never thought I'd live to see it break
It's getting dark
And it's all too quiet
And I can't trust anything now
And it's coming over you
Like it's all a big mistake
Oh...

"Haunted" is one of the most listened song on my list. I think it's about a boy she fell in love with... but due 2 some reasons they could not make it together. She still remembers all the things he did for her. She is with some other men now, who tries 2 make her smile, but that doesn't matter coz she still loves the same guy. She couldn't believe that he is already gone coz he was the guy who she really wanted and needed. But its' already too late to start again or end....-specmistress's interpretation.
-
I know it wasn't meant this way, but I can see this as being a girl who's father left the family, and this song is what she's singing to him.
-
Haunted is about:
At first, she can't believe that they broke up. She'd never thought she'd live to see it break.
And she's panicking. She's dying.
Then, later on, she's haunted by the memory of the boy. She found another, but she wishes it was him instead. -
At the point in the song, she is still dating the guy she loves but she can feel him falling away from her. She is pleading with him to stay with her because she can't survive without him. She is desperate for him to stay because if he leaves he leaves her alone and haunted by his empty promises and the memory of him. It's the most dangerous kind of love. Just as she thought she had him down to an art he turned around and changed everything. They are about to break up and she knows she can't love anyone else, even if they are better for her than the said boy.
-
I think that the song means that the guy she was dating broke up with her. Then he died, and she felt bad that they had never made up. "You're not gone, you can't be gone" could refer to datingor dying. I think that the song is about dating, though. The dying was just a thought.
-
It could also be about her liking a boy and he leaves her in suspense. She is saying she can never go back to her old style beacuse she finally is dating someone.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Because Taylor Swift has man troubles, it is probably about that. But, it can be about friendships too. I had a friend not too long ago that made me feel exactly like what the song says. Kind of ironic, because I told her about the song about 10 minutes earlier.
I think it is about having someone in your life that you know so well not want to be with you anymore. -
Its kind of about a girl and a guy who are just breaking up. The guy made all kind of promises to her, and she made promises to him, the difference is that she kept hers and he broke his. One of the promises was that they would aways be there for each other, and he's broken that and is leaving her, and she can't understand why, and she's crying that she can't understand it and saying that she'll always remember him and his betrayal, and will haunt her every step fof her life.
-
This is about person that is not right with her and they break up. But she remembers him again!
