Taylor Swift: Innocent Meaning
Song Released: 2010
Innocent Lyrics
Left yourself in your war path
Lost your balance on a tightrope
Lost your mind trying to get it back
Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you...

Maybe it is about kanye but as soon as I heard this song I immediately though of jake gyhlinhale...
-
I don't know. It could be about someone who she isn't and wasn't romantically interested in, other than Kanye and John Mayer. It makes me think of my biological mom. Like, I guess it could be about one of those people.
-
I honestly think it could be about Kanye but ya know it may not be. That's a question for Taylor herself..

i would say this song is not about kanye or john. Is about how people are. Like makin mistake n people judging them tellin them they're bad person n taylor she's tellin us that is ok to make mistakes because u cant stop it so what u did is not wat u really are inside that's wat she meant who u r is not where u've been . You 're still innocent. I'm sure is not definetly about kenye or john. Is 4 anyone who felt that way.

This song is about Kanye West. She is sort of forgiving him for his mistakes in the VMAs. I don't get why she would forgive him, I never would.
-
I really think it's about John Mayer. It fits with his age, and with who he is and does.

This is an awesome song because anyone can interpret it in their own way. I intuitively thought about war when I listened to it for the first time and imo it also fits into that topic perfectly. When I hear the lyrics I think of all these young, good-hearted soldiers whose look on life gets dramatically changed by what they experience.
"Did some things you can't speak of
But at night you live it all again"
"who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent"
"Today is never too late to Be brand new"
For me this is a bright message of hope for everyone who experienced hardship in their life and wished the days of childhood back when everything was simple and peaceful.
I think this would make a great anti-war song like "Come Home" by One Republic. -
This song is about someone who made a big mistake, and is being ridiculed for it. She's telling them that even though they made mistakes, are still a good person.
-
Evryone knows this song is about Kanye and what happend last year but to me this song is about when your younger there is so much hope and your so innocent but when you get older you make mistakes and you remembering them. Even if you really screwed up you can still fix them and you are still innocent

This song IS about kanye! Every piece fits! At the 2010 VMAs before she performed a clip of 2009s incident was played proving that this song was in fact written for kanye and is addressing kanye.
-
The reason this waas preformed at the vmas is because it was a sign of fogiveness. Sye says who u r is not what u did and ur string of lights is still bright to me.
-
I don't believe this song is about Kanye West. Sure, some pieces my fit, but I do not believe she would sing this song at the 2010 VMA's if the incident occurred just one year before; that would be practically rubbing it in his face, which is something she wouldn't do. Listening to her album, her song "Mean" is more appropriate for the famous moment.
