Taylor Swift: Teardrops On My Guitar Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Teardrops On My Guitar Lyrics
What I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she's got everything that I have to live without
Drew talks to me, I laugh...
-
This song is about Taylor likeing a guy named Drew. He thinks of her as just a friend. But she likes him more then a friend. He ends up having a girlfriend who he talks about a lot to Taylor. Taylor gets upset. Then about 2 months later he comes back and says he and the girl he was goin out with had broken up. She said he was to late because she already released the album. He realized the song was about him.

This song is a typical teenage love story that almost every girl goes through. Your in love with a boy, who has no idea how much you like him. Every time you talk to him, you want to tell him that you like him, but aren't sure how to say it. He, having no idea that you like him, falls in love with another girl. In the long run, you regret not telling him how you feel before it was too late, and just hope that that girl knows how lucky she is to have him.
-
It's about loving a boy, not telling him how you feel soon enough, he doesn't know, so he likes other people. She realizes the mistake she made, and accepts it, and hopes that he's happy with her.
-
I agree with WhiteMilkLover but one thing. It's not just some girl, it's an experience that Taylor actually had with a boy and now he has a bumper sticker on his car saying "Taylor Swift wrote a song about me" LOL. I heard that in an interview!
-
Well this was about her real friend (Drew) she liked and she told him in a music video, when he found out two months later (Taylor said it was 2 months too late)

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
