   It's a song about a relationship between two people gone wrong, and taylor tells it like a story. At the beginning of the 'story' of her and this guy, she met him and they connected instantly, and she knew she could trust him and rely on him. The beginnings of most storys start of happy & perfect, with no conflict; sort of like their relationship. As she gets to the middle of their story, something goes wrong in the relationship, and she loses him. From that point on, it becomes really awkward when they have to see each other. In The middle of any story, there's usually a problem and they are trying to right it, in the middle of their relationship, theyre problem was that it went wrong, but she's trying to right it, but doesn't know how. The 'end' of their story hasn't happened yet, but she's trying to shape it so that the ending turns out alright; by telling him that she still loves him and it's up to him to make things right.

   "The Story of Us," is the song everybody thought was about Joe Jonas. Which is not to be confused with the one that really is about Joe Jonas, "Last Kiss." Or the numbers about Taylor Lautner or Owl City's Adam Young.

   Honestly? I think she's just trying to explain how difficult it is to break up with someone who's near us a lot. It doesn't matter which of her boyfriend it's about, because that isn't what she wants us to focus on. It's about how awkward things can get and all the questions that always run through our heads when we see an ex who we thought was our fairytale prince.
