The Neighbourhood: Flawless Meaning
Flawless Lyrics
She didn't want him to run, he didn't want her to fear
Nobody said it'd be easy, they knew it was rough
But, tough luck
I fell in love today, there aren't many words you can say
That...

#1 top rated interpretation:The relationship is incompatible because he isn't able to love her the way she needs him to and he is lying to himself about her insecurities for noticing his inability to attach. He cares about her, but he doesn't love her and keeps trying to convince himself that it is enough that she loves him, that he can look past her flaws. But instead of accepting those fears and insecurities as part of her, he puts her on a pedestal and waits for reality to crush the relationship because he can't reconcile that the whole reason she is flawed is because he won't see her for who she is instead of who he thinks he needs her to be.

I truly believe this song is about a guy who has secretly found another girl or has created an image of this flawless girl in his head. He realizes that the girl he's with isn't exactly what he wanted/imagined, and I believe she notices. Hence why she's acting all paranoid about him finding someone else the whole song. ex: "She didn't want him to run" and "she put his heart in a bag" and, "She said, you better not leave me"
When the POV changes to the first person in the pre-chorus, I'm sure it's the guy describing this flawless girl he's met/imagined possibly to the first girl. "I fell in love today, there aren't any words that you can say. That could ever get my mind to change. She's enough for me, she's in love with me" I think that he believes the girl he's with doesn't love him as much as the new one could. Basically just coming after the first girl.
And finally the chorus, "You're a doll, you are flawless. But I just can't wait for love to destroy us. I just can't wait for love. You're only flaw, you are flawless. But I just can't wait for love to destroy us. I just can't wait for love" I think this is him trying to convince himself that the girl he has is perfect and flawless just like the new one, but he ends up realizing it's not true and all he wants to do is be over with it. -
This song is about a boy who’s in love with just the mystery this girl plays as in her “ hiding her dark side” being unable to see her actual flaws so he falls for a false self image …

My opinion on this song’s meaning, is pretty simple to be honest. It has been my favourite one for over a year and i can genuinely say that many times i have thought about different interpretations. However, i have concluded that at least in my “ears” there’s only one thing. He is not in love with her actually, he wants to be in love with someone desperately that’s why he considers the only problem of hers, “her flaws”. Basically the girl doesn’t reciprocate and “Flawless” is about the urge to be loved & love blinded and purely in the most impeccable way, something that he hasn’t experienced

i read the song as someone has promised someone else forever. saying theyll never leave them no matter what. now theyve met this new girl, she’s absolutely flawless and theyve fallen for her. she also reciprocates. they dont want to hurt the past partner but no matter how much they try they could never be with the past partner because of their undying love for the new girl ex: “i fell in love today, there arent many words that u could say that could ever get my mind to change”

I see more like love have blinded him, and he didnt see her flaws because he was in love with her. After all, his mind can find her flaws and he sees that is just a question of time for the love fades and they destroy each other because they dont fit together.

I think it's about this guy who regret breaking up with his girlfriend and he is still in love with her hence the line "can't wait for love to destroy us" I think the whole song is just about regret.

I believe this song is about a boy who loves a perfect girl, a beautiful amazing girl. But she's too perfect for him. I think he just stays with her because "he didn't want her to cry". And of course as the song later says, "She didn't want to be sad". From the girl's point of view, I feel like this would be sad because she's clearly not flawless (nobody is)she probably just acts like it because she wants him to like her.But I think it annoys him that she can't be herself, because it sounds like he is obsessed with trying to find her flaws when he says. "It rattles my lungs, but my mind is
Tangled between your little flaws
Your flaws, your flaws, your flaws" Also he says "Your only flaw, you are flawless." Which could mean her flaw is that she is too perfect. So in conclusion, I think they both settle for each other and are not really in love. As proven by, "She's enough for me." Maybe they were pressured into the relationship, or maybe they were just desperate. Who knows... -
i think is about teaching girls to be perfect, self indipendent not having any problem in life

I believe the song is about a guy who's in love with a perfect girl.. (Basically the girl of his dreams...)
`-- You're a doll, you are flawless--
But he doesn't want to hurt the girl..with love...
--I can't wait for love to destroy us -- -
I think that the song is about a guy who's in love with a girl but doesn't want love to destroy them as he says in the song. Earlier in the song it briefly talks about how they don't want to leave each other so he goes back to saying "she's enough for me, she's in love with me."
