The Neighbourhood: Wiped Out! Meaning
Wiped Out! Lyrics
Young and innocent but getting older
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
Sharper the blade is
The easier it scars your soul
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
My current state is heavy

To me, this song talk about being in a relationship at a young age, making plans for the future together, dreaming of a perfect life, but also on the other side one of them is fighting his mental ilnesses, and realize he is growing up with no escape of what's happening in his head, growing up just made things worse, and he's scared of losing his lover because of how heavy his situation can be, but he's still hoping it's a phase, begging the other one not to let him go, not to leave him . Also he is seeking for validation;" make you need me", for his partner to find a reason to stay. the illness he seems to fight against looks like depression or anxiety or maybe BDP, he feel like he's drowing, "out of a race", loosing himself, and he hope his partner will save him, but also know that they will never feel like he does so they're not able to understand everything. to end, he's wiped out by everything.

"Wiped Out" is a beautiful song by the neighbourhood, people can take this song in many different ways. This song talks about drugs, being addicted to drugs. And "mixed emotions" many mixed emotions mostly expressing anxiety and depression, feeling pain and pressure. "How could u feel the way that i'm feeling if your not inside of me head" this line illustrates signs of stress, anxiety and pain.

Wiped out represents the anxiety 100% percent, and each part of the song represents the stage of panic attacks, being the climax the most intense and consuming part. The lyrics describe the pain and craziness that mental conditions can cause in a person like depression, social anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and more. This is a complex work of art, beautifully executed lyrically and melodically. The NBHD is the best band out there.
