Hip hip
Hip hip
Hip hip

When you're on a holiday
You can't find the words to say
All the things that come to you
And I wanna feel it too

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I...

I always felt like it was a song for someone who was dying or died... To comfort them and tell them to not be afraid, because they were going to a place were they would feel peace.

On the surface; the drug- interpretation is my 1st guess as well, but...
It could be about suicide... ("Never feel bad anymore". As I understand it; most people feel pretty bad when they run out of drugs...)

Tho' I personally prefer to stick to my "comfort a dying loved one"- interpretation

Is about the movie plague dogs. In said movie 2 dogs are part of a group of animal for testing and plagued whith a lot of diseases, hoping one day escape and run to the island of the dogs. a paradise where dogs never gets hungry, tired or frightened. eventually the found a way to escape and made their way to the ocean, but authorities getting close. finally they get to the beach, but animal control and lab security too, so the jump and start to swim, tired, hungry and weakened, one of the dogs says to the other, "there it is, the isaland, we are going to make it" but in reality both are delusional and the movie ends with the screen fading black, symbolizing both dogs died swiming. You need to see the movie to understand the whole song "When you're on a holiday
You can't find the words to say
All the things that come to you
And I wanna feel it too" one the at week the labs do not carry experiment on theme and talk about the island

if you watch the movie trainspotting, renton mentions to spud (after the drug deal) about buying a "wee island in the sun." i think the song title is connected to this phrase for a few reasons:

1)The golden sea is like the color of the heroin.
2)"You don't need no memory" when your on a heroin high because everything fades away and there is only that time of being high.
3)"Just a place to call your own" is the pad in which the characters in the movie cook up at, The Mother Superior, as they "drift into the zone."
4)"We'll spend SOME time FOREVER" relates to the relatively short time time they are high, yet it feels like forever because they are high.
5)"We'll never feel bad anymore" is an obvious reference to the effect of heroin's high.

"And it makes me feel so fine
    I can't control my brain"

As we drift into the zone"

The guy was obviously talking about escaping reality through some illegal substances or alcohol because if it we're a natural high with a girl that he was talking about HE WOULD WANT TO CHERISH AND REMEMBER THE MOMENT THEY HAD, hence, need a memory.

This song is about the singer trying to convince the girl to take drugs with him (to escape reality which was already said)

i believe the song is actually about overcoming the use of such things liek drugs nd alchohol as u may have known weezer is not really a sober band im sure considering they have a song about a hash pipe. To me it just sounds as if he has found a natural high over a drug or alcoholic high and he would like to take his friends with him on the natural high.

This song is all about getting away from reality, probably with a little help from either alchohol or some illegal subsance. It's obviously a sudden relaxation point that the artist is feeling and he knows that he is safe from any threats from the outside world.

"When you're on a golded sea
    You don't need no memory
Just a place to call your own
As we drift into the zone..."
