Zac Brown Band: Colder Weather Meaning
Colder Weather Lyrics
Closes the door before the winter lets the cold in,
And wonders if her love is strong enough to make him stay,
She's answered by the tail lights
Shining through the window pane
[Chorus:]
He...
-
my interpretation is that this is zac's dad and he always put his job before the family. he loved them but had to work to support them but always gave them excuses to why he wasn't coming home when they needed him the most. unfortunately, the house burned to the ground and zac's mom packed the family up and moved to atlanta and lost contact with his dad. this is the true reasoning behind the story. i.e highway 20 ride.
-
Since Zac Browns Brother is addicted to meth it is often referred to as colder weather. When he says but I'm stuck in colder weather it means he is high an when it says maybe tomorrow will be better he is trying top get off addiction
-
the song is about his brother's drug addiction...and thats a fact
-
To say that this song is "obviously for the military" is kinda like saying all troops have jipsy souls. Military members leave because duty calls, not because they have jipsy souls, so be careful. This song is about a "ramblin' man" who doesn't want to settle down with one woman in one place. He loves her but fears commitment. The colder weather part is just his excuse he gives her. It could be about a trucker but I don't think this song has anything to do with the trucking occupation or lifestyle. The woman dies in the end and the man is left with regret.
-
I don't think its about a trucker. Unless all truckers have jipsy souls. The truck stop in Lincoln is just coincindence. I think that "stuck in colder weather" is an excuse he always gives her. He "rambles" around with other women but always thinks of her. Then when he tries to go back to her again its too late. Hence the "ghost" part.
-
My husband was a Marine combat veteran in Vietnam. This song reminds me of his struggles with PTSD. He died in Jan 2009 as a result of complications of his PTSD.
-
I suuport the being on the road meaning since Zac said so himself. Keeping in mind several people contiributed to the song it can and does have many meanings. Addiction. The road. Lost love. To pick one would be an insult to one of their best songs. Go ZBB!
-
Actually Levi lowery coy Bowles zac brown and Wyatt durrette wrote it and its about a guy who is a truck driver and leaves when she needs him most, she commits suicide
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think this song is about a man that is a truck driver and a girl that fall in love, but he fears commitment ," I love you but I leave you" and he leaves "she wonders if her love is strong enough to make her stay she's answered by the tail lights in the window pane"but when he is on the road he can't get her out of his mind "when I close my eyes I see you no matter where I am" and he says he will cone back but she doesn't believe him ( the chorus) and he says that he has a jipsy soul and he's born for leaving but at the end she dies "I'm with your ghost again" and he says he will see her soon in the next life " we will be together again and I can't wait till then"
-
To me this song is about a man who never healed up from his first love. He has the real thing in front of him now and and is too scared to do anything but run.
-
I think its about a truck driver. He doesn't want to leave her, but he has to. I think he wants to come back to her, but he's snowed in.
-
I have the story right, Zac has a brother that has been stuck in meth addiction and one of his brother's good friends died in active addiction. This song is about being "stuck". Colder weather represents addiction.
-
i think this song is one of the best they have ever written. but, i think this song can be interpreted in many different ways depending on the situation but for me it will be for all the troops cause a lot of people in my family are in the forces or have been
-
I believe that it is about a truck driver, he was born to do that. He cant stay with her because he's always on the road. Then, she passes, its just too late then.
