Alan Walker: Darkside Meaning
Song Released: 2016
Darkside Lyrics
I’m not alone
We share those stories
Just something in your eyes
Don’t be afraid
The shadow’s roaming
Let’s leave the world behind
[Pre-Chorus: Tomine Harket]
Take me through the night
Fall in to the...

As a mother of a pre-teen that is absolutely digging this song, my immediate and still interpretation of this song is death. I havent seen the video and in some ways am not visual. I am disturbed by the lyrics. Like the beat tempo and tune. But again the lyrics have me leaning to someone thinking of self harm and this is what's going on in their head.
-
Okay, when dark side came out I was like "cool! Walker has a new song" but, when I watched it and listened to it I felt like it was trying to tell people that it was good to become bad. I mean the lyrics for it in my opinion felt evil like the devil trying to get us through this song
I don't like the lyrics I wish we could change them into something better because I like the tune not the words. -
I deal that many people dislike the lyrics of this song because of its portrayal of ‘darkness’. Many people think that the light represents goodness and therefor the song is telling you to give in to being evil. However I think of the light representing the norm, the darkness representing individuality and change. Overall the song telling you to be individual and being being different like how the song is portraying light as the negative.

I don't really understand what the "w" like symbol is in the video, but I feel like they are trying to portray some type of rebellion against the norm. If it is between "lovers" who say they are "not in love" it is clearly a call to impulsive passion. I only listen to the instrumental cello version of this song because I feel like the words and actions portrayed in the video are evil and I do not want to listen to those types of ideas. The video makes me think of the devil trying to deceive. I want the Light! :)

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

The seductress is asking her object of affection for a one night stand. The object of her affection is a stranger, there is no love between them. She says let go of the morality (light) and fall in to the darkside of pure passion.

Darkside lyrics by Alan Walker, I think the video explained the intepretation of this song.

My entire life, I have believed good people would eventually, have good things in life. People who were inconsiderate of others, taking advantage,or,ungrateful, would eventually have less. I am 57. Twice during my life, I should have died, according to the doctors. I believed there was a reason. I had a purpose to fulfill. My entire life has been extremely stressful. I would pick myself up, only to get knocked down. I assumed it was a test of faith. I have noticed, selfish, ungrateful, people, who would take and not care how their actions affected others, seem to be put on a pedestal, have amazing happy lives. I started doubting my beliefs, and begging the universe to help me understand. In two days I will be homeless. I was trying to enjoy the time, and not think about what would happen once I walked outside my home, with nowhere to go. While packing, this song and video came on. I was in disbelief, and had a panic attack. Hearing it made me feel like I was a fool, and being laughed at. Just my personal opinion. If there was ever a time to seize the light, now would be the time. The world, and people, seem strangely chaotic. I wish everyone reading this, peace, love, happiness, and, LIGHT.

I believe that the song "Darkside" by Alan Walker is about breaking out of your comfort zone (light) and go face your fears (darkside) while you're still young, wild and fearless.
-
It feels like a good song but at the end it sad reminds of me when bad times get us it sometimes get better.
-
I like the beat and the song but I get bad vibes from it as if there is a deeper meaning behind those lyrics example letting go of light aka goodness and embracing the dark side aka evil um... no thanks. so I won’t be adding this to my playlist.

Oh,hey :D
The interpretation are not simple of this song.(And I don’t speak English ;-;)Some people can see some different opinions and interpretation.
Okay,my opinion, the lyrics are a metaphor.A metaphor of the society or the teenage rebellion.I think like the Anonymous in the top rated.
But the truth in this song, belong the “World of Walkers” series, the lyrics are connected with the song (I think “Diamond heart” are only not connected to the story)

In this video, the author told the story of the “World of Walkers” -
I see the song as saying life is not always going to be full of light, so sometimes people have to embrace what they are given; the dark. This isn't to say that the light will not shine on these people and they will forever live in the worst parts of life, but it says the people have to take what is given to them until better things present themselves.
-
When I heard this song it kind of related to me when it says "were not in love" meaning they are just friends "we share no stories" they haven't told about themselves or "just something in your eyes" knowing there is something inside of that person they see. When it says "don't wait for truth to come and blind lets just believe their lies" showing that the truth hurts and saying a lie would make it better for them in my opinion I love the song and there is nothing else to it we all have different opinions about the song but this is mine whatever is yours is what you think about it the song is awesome anyway!!!!!
