Alec Benjamin: Devil Doesn't Bargain Meaning
Devil Doesn't Bargain Lyrics
It's useless, don't do this, it's hubris to try
He's ruthless, you knew this, I told you, didn't I?
He's abusive, elusive, the truth is he lies
I know you don't want to let go
And just like before, I can see...

#1 top rated interpretation:this song is about a friend saying to their best friend that she is in a an abusive relationship. framing the the guy as a devil. they say that 'the devil doesn't bargain , he'll only break your heart again' saying that he will not change and only abuse your sympathy towards him.
"The devil doesn't bargain
He'll only break your heart again
It isn't worth it, darling
He's never gonna change
He'll never be Prince Charming
He'll only do you harm again" -

#2 top rated interpretation:I see the song as an advice to people by the singer. The devil can be anyone around you whom you might love so much but will keep harming you and you'll think one day you might be able to change him. There's no need to if you have done your best. You just have to leave the relationship to avoid occasions of sin.❤️

#3 top rated interpretation:I personally love this song and it's about a relationship when it says he will never be prince charming so it's a she but we don't know that for sure and they are being abused and Alec Benjamin aka the person who sings it is telling them that is an abusive relationship.

I take it as a literal sense and a symbolic sense. You can interpret it as the literal devil in Christianity and how sinners do his bidding just to get that temporary happiness but it keeps betraying them. Or it can be a friend being in an abusive relationship and a friend is trying to convince them to leave that relationship. Could be friendship or dating.
-
I see it as two friends and an abusive boyfriend and friend 1 has had a relationship withe the abusive boyfriend before and he hurt her but she is giving him a second chance but friend two is trying to warn her that it is not going to work out. Friend 1 has also tried to change the boyfriend’s way of thinking and is trying to do it again but friend two is telling her she can’t change him only boyfriend can change himself

It is about a friend advising her friend that the man she loves is a devil, and will always break her heart, that she should Leave her abusive relationship
-
When Alec says "he's ruthless, I told you, didn't I?" I interoperate that he has tried to tell her many times that she deserves someone/something better. But she is convinced that she can change this so called devil, no matter how many times he shows her that it useless to try. She keeps being hurt by him, but reduces to let go. I can relate, sometimes I still think I can change him, but after I listened to this song, I finally realized exactly what I was doing, and realized that I can't keep trying to fix people who cannot be fixed.

The devil doesn't bargain
The singer really inspired me, the song literally talks about my past, holding onto a relationship that wasn't working. I tried everything to make it work but it was ruthless my emotions were hurt, really I thought I could change him -
I think the singer (Alec Benjamin) is telling someone he knows [I think it's a female friend] that she is in a abusive and toxic relationship and she gives her bf [who I think the singer refers to as the devil] a lot of love and affection and he abuses her. But idk I'm only 13 :/

Devil doesn't bargain.you can't reason with someone who can't be convinced that he is wrong
-
The devil doesn't bargain has literally every meaning of expressions of how fake people could be but no matter how much you love them they can never change
Whether it's a family member,a friend,or a relationship
They can never settle Because the devil doesn't bargain -

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I personally take it as a message from God saying the devil doesnt bargain and he is ruthless and abusive and to lean on Jesus and Jesus only.
The devil truly is ruthless and he will never change. -
I think the song is all about a realationship whereby the person reffered to as the devil keeps on hurt the singer more even when he tries to talk to them dey nah change
-
I personally believe its all about the entertainment industry and the beautiful picture they try to paint it as but it'll never be prince charming, it'll only do harm to does who believe they can change the outcome of the industry and the stronghold the devil already has on it.
