#1 top rated interpretation:The song is about the story of Cain and Abel. Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve. Cain was a farmer and Abel was a sheperd. Cain had killed Abel after he was jealous that God had accepted Abel's offering of sacrafices and denied Cain's offering of produce. God had called upon Cain and asked where he brother was. He lied and said he did not know. God knew he had killed Abel and said his blood cries out to him. He had sent Cain away to farm and survive in the other land where he would have to roam from oplace to place to farm. Cain had told God that he could not send him away because he could be killed by the other people that roamed the Earth. God had marked Cain that warned others that they should not kill him. If they were warned and Cain had been killed, the murderers would suffer times seven. Or as others may know it, they would suffer...............Avenged Sevenfold.

#2 top rated interpretation:Chapter Four is about the fourth chapter of the book of Genesis (the bible). Where Cain kills Abel "I closed my brothers eyes tonight."
This chapter coincidentally is also where they got their name from, for When Cain killed Abel it is said that God "marked" Cain so that none may punish him for his sin... and that anyone who harmed Cain shall suffer "Vengeance seven times over" thus the name Avenged sevenfold was born. -
I've come here to kill you, won't leave until you've died, murder full of vengeance,I closed my BROTHERS eyes tonight is Cain killing his brother Abel. This song had a lot to do with the band where Cain would suffer SEVEN times over is Avenged SEVENfold
