Avenged Sevenfold: Heretic Meaning
Heretic Lyrics
All lies descend on one
Honest man in chains
But that don't matter anyway
My judgement day
My flesh will feed the demon
No trial, no case for reason
I've been chosen to pay with my life
Mad men, they find what...

A song about The Protagonist who's ''self identifying'',when being accused and labeled one of Them that feels like He's on death-row. Relating to some of the ways that The Pharisees accused JESUS of being a Heretic who was hunted down and crucified. Could also be about trying to survive with the modern day ideology version of The Far Left and The Far Right Neo-con Democrats that likes to mooch on the Government for money and Power, to practice their false religion. While at the same time critcizes and going up against ''The Righteous Indapendant Individual'' by calling and scapegoating Him as the Heretic that They actually feel or don't recongnize in themselves, but want's ''The Good Honest One'' to be burned at the stake or crucified for their sins that they don't wanna acknowledge that they're commiting. Talking about a Heretic! is when our hypocritical ''brother'' John Haggee is doing with fear that could make one feel like a Heretic. While giving Christianity and the Jewish people a bloody name in the Middle East. All in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Where by His name he's sometimes preaching or evangelizing Ceaserism persuation by ''raising cain'' too much, with the support of the radical Far Left and the Far Right, so called Zionist Christian[s] sheepel who for most part led to depend on Revelation for looking to ''nuke'' or ''stake'' somebody for Their blood and food to put on their plate.

I believe it relates to the Spanish inquisition.
-
I believe it's about people who are ridiculed for different ideals like when I was in middle school people tried to convert me to Christianity because I was agnostic ( meaning one who doesn't is open to the idea of religion but doesn't follow one).

I think that its is talking about the vast amount of innocent people arrested for crimes such as murder and wrongly put to death by the court system. Do not know if this is the real meaning just my interpretation.
-
I believe he's talking about being punished unfairly for being different/having different thoughts. One meaning of a "heretic" is someone who has different morals or actions than customs told them to. "Honest man in chains" means someone that doesn't deserve to be punished is being anyways

i feel as if this song is about someone who is picked to justify mass genocide, when a country wants to go to war, but the citizens do not, the government usually tries to pin point a reason or a particular person to get everyone wild up. (hitler) doesn't have to be the truth. so in this song some unknown force pin points the guy telln the story i guess u can say. "as they search for blood"
''all EYES descend on One'' "an honest man in chains" he is innocent. his flesh will feed the "demons" as in the people behind his captivity, no trail no case for reason, he's been chosen to pay with his life. rising masses marching to find heretic blood, people against their cause. (my opinion)
