Avenged Sevenfold: M.I.A. Meaning
M.I.A. Lyrics
Living another day in disguise.
These feelings can't be right, lend me your courage to stand up and fight, on tonight.
Ooooo....
Stand up and fight.
Now fighting rages on and...

MIA is a song written for Avenged friends and family fighting the war. It is not anti war, it is about the personal experiences their friends have lived through and came home to tell them. Like many of A7Xs songs it has a personal meaning for them.

It's not pro or anti war. Who wouldn't be feeling those strong emotions with all that happening around you? War isn't ever a subtle thing, it's a fair thing to say though that the prospective of the person portrays a not so fond trust in the or any kind of war. Regardless of your interpretation, it's an awesome and powerful song, as is any A7X song. So what say you my bros?

I went to one of their concerts, and before they played this song, m.shadows said that he wrote it for a friend of his that died (or at least was fighting there, I don't remember if he said he died or not) in iraq. and it's about how war changes people, and makes them do things they don't want to do just to survive.
obviously anti-war. -
yeah, this song isn't anti war, I don't know what your talking about. It is also not pro war, like the guy above me said. Its just about the life of a soldier, over there, and how he deals with his conscience
-
Its a song about war and ones concions, its not pro-war or anti-war, its written in such a way where it doesn't preach to you it actually tells a story. It was written on a base of conversations m.Shadows had with friends who are fighting and have fought in the us army.

M.I.A stands for missing in action--a soldier term--this song is anti-war and I beleive it is based on vietnam--read about the war and you will see that many things said in the song are really about things that happened in nam
-
M.I.A. Is about the war in Iraq. It's in a way an anti-war statement song
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
