Avenged Sevenfold: Welcome to the Family Meaning
Song Released: 2010
Welcome to the Family Lyrics
I know the way you've been livin'
Life's so wreckless, tragedy endless
Welcome to the family
Hey! There's something missing
Only time will alter your vision
Never in question, lethal injection
Welcome to...

Not every song is about The Rev.
Personally, I strongly believe that this song is about the United States Marine Corpse. It says
"welcome to the family"
like welcome to the brotherhood of soldiers. We are a family.
"Not long ago you found the answers were so crystal clear
Within a day you find yourself living in constant fear
Can you look at yourself now?
Can you look at yourself?"
that means that when they got in they thought it was the perfect choice but they find out how brutal it can be.
"Hey kid, do I have your attention?
I know the way you've been livin'
Life's so wreckless, tragedy endless"
obviously the kind of person going into the marines thinking that they will get to kill people.
"Details blurry, lost him too early"
Man down. They tried to save him and hear what he was saying but he died to early.
"It's been done, a casualty re-run"
it isn't to common to loose someone. "Can't help the people you're missing" their families of course.
"You can't win this fight!"
You can't win the fight in the middle east.
"Cast out
In a world you'll never know"
Afghanistan.
"Place your weapons by your side
It's our war"
The war in the middle east. It all makes total sense. Avenged Sevenfold has made tons of songs about the military, M.I.A and Gunslinger for instance. They are completely pro-Military. It just couldn't be clearer to me -
Personally, I think this song is about Welcoming a new drummer to Avenged Sevenfold, OR how some people face challenges that seem impossible or seem torturous (is that a word?), hense "it feels like there's no one to call when your thoughts are numb and feelings unsure, we all have emptiness inside we all have answers to find, but YOU can't win this fight". I also think this song may be about trying to finding the answers to life's questions.

It's about someone's son in the band,If you check their offcial channel,You should know.

although many people think its about the rev, its not. jimmy wrote it and they worked to make it like he wanted. jimmy's death definitely helped them write it to show that everyday someone is going through hell and back but its not strictly ABOUT the rev. only two songs on the album are. 'so far away' and 'victim' are those two. syn wrote so far away. victim was written before his death but changed after he died while they were making some of the many thousand revisions in it. but welcome to the family isnt about the rev. R.I.P.

clearly, this song alludes to the death of the bands drummer, but on a larger scale it is about sympathy for those who face unbearable challenges everyday. This adversity that they face makes them live in fear of others. The title Welcome to the Family means that if you face these challenges, there are other people just like you out there who you can reach out to.
