   She's just picking up the pieces of her broken heart that all the boys in her past have left her with. What I don't understand is the pieces of that broken heart is shown when she is gathering them up from multiple different people & in different situations & they become happy. Could it be that when you put your own heart back together again, does that in someway make the people around you with become happy as well?

   It's about a guy that changed his mind and broke up with her, and another guy that picked her up and helped her realize she didn't need him. She picks up the peices of her broken heart, and when she smiles, everyone else does, too. I also think that she falls in love with this other guy. :D

   I believe this song is about someone who has fallen in love after a rough time in their life or has had their heart broken or had some other form of emotional pain. The person they've fallen in love with now makes them smile, forgetting about all the pain of before they met them. I don't think the song's meaning is directly related to the video but if you want my point of view on that as well, the person who fell in love then brightened the lives of everyone around her by showing them that you can move on and forget all of that pain and actually smile in the end.

   i think the meaning of the song is that she met someone who fixed her broken heart, and she is picking up the broken peices of other people's hearts and it makes them smile. the broken hearts are represented by shattered red glass. at the end of the video she shows a whole red glass heart. i think the hearts are made of glass in the video because it shows how fragile hearts are and that they break easily. i love the song.. it makes me smile:)

   I think that in this song she is talking about all the boys who have broken her heart and now she has found one that is committed and stuff so now she smiles.

   well i think that she has gone through a really rough relationship, the guy played with her feelings and 'stole' her heart.. she is sad because of her previous relationship but now she is strong and wants everyone to be strong too that is why she collects the pieces and everyone starts to smile.. she basically wants people to be strong because in life bad things happen

   I thought the meaning of the song was tht she broke with this guy that she was in love with but he completely screwed her up and that she realizes that she can stand on her own. the reason she smiles is because after the break up she finally smiles after all the pain he caused her, she learned to move on. it's almost like she's thanking and forgiving him for screwing up her life

    i think that she's taking the pieces of a broken heart every time she passes the people in the video. when she removes the pieces of the broken heart, the person is not sad anymore. because the pain from the broken heart is gone. and then in the end, she show with the red glass heart, that her heart is whole, and therefore she smiles!

    Every time she finds more pieces of red broken glass, the people around her soon started to smile, in the end of the video, avril had completed the red glass heart, and therefore she is smiling, I like the video very much!! :).
