   To me, the song means that black stars aren't really seen, like of a star was black in the night sky. That black star in the sky is different then the white ones, and it's okay.

   A black star can't be seen in the black sky. So even if a person is not seen or noticed by everyone and just fades in doesn't mean that they aren't a "shining star" they can be whatever they want regardless of what other people think.
