Blink-182: Ghost on the Dance Floor Meaning
Ghost on the Dance Floor Lyrics
Her subtle hint of life is so innocent and scary
So tell me that you're here boy, she says as if she knows
When God took her with time, God made me quite alone
It's like the universe has...
-
I believe that the song is about one of the writers partner who was taken with time hence the lyric "when god took her with time go down left me quite alone". I think that they were teenagers leaving a party and they had gotten hit by a drunk driver and she had passed and when he goes back to place of the party he sees her ghost and the lyric "I saw your ghost tonight it fucking hurt like hell" ..."but dreams can't all be real"

It's about codependency and narcissism borderline personality disorders about the hooking and then abusing hooking and abusing hooking and abusing

The writer is remembering his lost loved one. "I'll never let you down boy, I'll never let you go" is something that love told him or maybe her vows. Her life was taken too soon and she meant everything to him and now he is feeling that he has nothing left that's why he says "When God took her with time, God made me quite alone
It's like the universe has left me, without a place go
Without a hint of light, to watch the movement glow."
"When our song was slowly starting, your memory felt so real. At first against my will, but God invented chills" the writer is probably attending a wedding and the "song" that is starting was their song for their first dance for their wedding. As the song is playing he is watching the dance floor and he is imagining his love dancing with him and it feels so real to him. While dancing her eyes are focused on his and with that any pain that he may have is gone. He doesn't want this moment to ever end that is why he says "If I never leave this dance floor, I'll never leave you here." In the end everything felt so real to him because he was so in love with her he never let any of his memories of her fade. "I felt your ghost tonight, and God it felt like hell
To know you're almost mine, but dreams are all I feel" -
It's about Producer Jerry Finn, how they felt his ghost while making the album as he taught them about producing and mixing, that's why the lyrics say they won't let him down.

i think its about a relationship that one of the writers had when they were younger, before they were married. from the first verse, i'm understanding that the girl somehow passed away while they were still dating, hence the lyrics "When God took her with time, God made me quite alone" from the lyrics "i'll never let you down boy, ill never let you go" it seems like they were sure to stay together forever. the writer feels so much pain when he's seeing her 'ghost on the dance floor' and having her so close, coming from the lyrics "I saw your ghost tonight, and God it felt like Hell, to know you're almost mine"
-
i think its about dj am because im pretty sure travis wrote this song
-
This song means that the writer misses his dead wife, and that one day he "saw her ghost" probably on a dance floor. when he saw the image of his dead wife, everything became better as he said " my wounds would start to heal" and that this experience is very realistic though it turns out to only be a dream " but dreams are all I feel"
