Blink-182: Asthenia Meaning
Asthenia Lyrics
With a good reason, a warning sign
This place is void of all passion
If you can imagine it's easy if you try
Believe me I failed this effort
I wrote a reminder this wasn't a vision
This time where are you...

#1 top rated interpretation:I thought in the album sleeve, Mark (or maybe it was Tom) left a little side note saying that it was about being in space, and not knowing whether you really wanted to go home...or not

#2 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about being on earth and one day just realizing that this world is filled with hate and sorrow but once you get out in space it seems so peaceful. So peaceful that it would make you want to go back to earth with the girl you love but you remember that its filled with hate and sorrow and you're torn between the two choices of staying out in space or going back to the hateful world. and finally in the end he decides not to go back. "should I go back? should I go back? should i? this time I don't want to. Should I go back? should I go back? should i? I hope I won't forget you."

It's about a guy lost in space who is floating away from earth in his space ship thinkin about home and his lover and weather he should see if he can try to use his last recourses to get home to her but most likly die trying to do that or sit in space and float away.

I feel that this song is about sadness. The line " This place is void of all passion" is about how he feels in his mind. he has recently broken up with the one he loves and is now feeling alone and desperate. The line " This time where are you Houston is somebody out there will somebody listen" is about looking for someone to share his emotion with. The chorus is suggesting that he wants to try to get back with the one he loves but knows he cant so he feels alone wanting to remember what love was like. He reenforces those feelings of sorrow with the second verse. In all it is about love lost and life afterwards.
-
I believe that the chorus, 'Should I go Back, Should I Go back...' is about the torment of needing to not be 'alone and tired' though by not returning: he will no longer feel the pain of having to reconnect with then after his absence: he can remember them as they were, and not forget them.

It's about an astronaut in space that doesn't know if he wants to come home and wants to stay in space but thinks about everything he has at home

your all right but also wrong its about being alone being troubled by what might happen, eg the theory of the man in space hes worried about if he should go back down to earth will it be the same as it once was or would he even want to go back, but the original lyrics for the chorus were should i cut cut should i cut cut should i, i feel alone and tired, should i cut cut should i cut cut should i, 16 and so different. this makes its obvious that it was meant about troubles and troubled teens but the record label probably said you have adams song and the two anthems you can't do another song like that so tom or mark or maybe all 3 of them changed it
-
well Asthenia the word means loneliness.
-
This song is about giving up and losing hope. Asthenia means losing strength or weakness. At one point in everyones life they feel this way and maybe tom or mark was feeling this way about his career and felt like giving up
-
He's right about the what Tom said in the booklet about if she should stay or not (should I go back, should I go back, should i?)...Tom said he imagined this,,,a guy in a space shuttle as big as a car looking down to earth wanting to stay or go back...my theory is....guy is in space....he says this place is void of all passion if you can imagine its eas if you try...meaning there is passion in space and he misses his family...shouldi go back, I hope I won't forget you...meaning should I go back or stay here and if I stay here I hope I'll remember all my loved ones in memory and won't forget you...

This song is about a guy that misses his love. He is in space [ex. where are you Houston?]. All he can think about is how empty space is and how void of passion and lonley he feels without her.
