Breaking Benjamin: Rain Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Rain Lyrics
It'll be the last
Not a dollar or a crowd
Could ever keep me here
I don't have a past
I just have a chance
Not a family or honest plea
Remains to say
Rain, rain, go away
Come again another day
All the world is...

When he says "to lie here under you is all that I could ever do" maybe he's saying there's nothing he can do about his troubles except to live with them.

I'm seeing that a lot of people think this song is about suicide. I'm definitely not saying they're wrong--the first verse certainly makes it seem that way. But I think the song is just about wanting to leave pain and darkness (the rain) behind. The 1st verse simply says that he wants to leave, maybe to make a new start somewhere else. Then the verse is like, "I can't deal with all this bad stuff right now, neither can anyone else." Second verse maybe means that he doesn't want to be alone, and that the girl he loves also wants to leave for higher ground. The bridge is coming to the realisation that he could have been more than he was. That's how I saw it, anyway...

First time im doing this so please correct me if im wrong,
In the first part he is saying that noone could keep him from not commiting suicide, the chorus is him saying for his troubles to just go away and leave him alone, and when he says "Is it you I want Or just the notion of A heart to wrap around So I can find my way around" he is questioning if he really loves, maybe a girlfriend, her.
-
I can't be sure, but he could be talking about suicide, because he feels as if there's nothing left to live for and maybe a girlfriend has left him (not a dollar or a crowd could ever keep me here). He's ashamed of himself and feels he has nothing to show for himself (I don't have a past). He feels no one cares about him enough to stop him from suicide (not a family or honest plea remains to say...)
On the chorus I'm not sure, but perhaps by "rain, rain, go away" he's referring to the troubles and struggles in life, that he just wants to do away with.
By "to lie here under you is all that I could ever do" he may be referring to sex, scorning himself for being good for nothing but sex while his girlfriend was still with him.
I could be completely off the mark. After all, I am human. Feel free to correct me.
