Cavetown: Green Meaning
Green Lyrics
Grinding up rocks with your molars
A big fish swims past your rod
You can't catch it, it's far too fast
Deep hook marks in rubber lips
I see your eyes in the flowers
I'll pick a bunch for your room
Green and blue to match...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think it's more of a part 2 to the song lemon boy. If you watch the video it's about a lemon and a lime (that's the most detail I'm getting into, go watch the music video if you wanna cry) and he could have picked anything to be in that video, but it's a lemon and a green lime. I think the song lemon boy is from the limes perspective and is about him still being friends with the person no one likes (robbies anxiety) and green is from the perspective of the lemon, being happy that someone is finally friends with them, but then is selfish and runs away because they think the lime is better without them, but then feels bad about doing that because they're never gonna have a friend that's good enough as the lime, and the song is just them kinda mourning that.
