Sad Song Lyrics

Today I'm gonna write a sad song
I'm gonna make it really long
So that everyone could see
That I'm very unhappy

I wish I wasn't always wrong
I wish it wasn't always my fault
The finger that you're pointing
Has knocked me on my knees
And...

I read this totally different than what was suggested. Maybe it's me. But I read it as maybe the young girl in the song is in a verbally abusive relationship possibly - and that her response was what alot of people do in those relationships - take the blame for why it happened. IT's her fault...she's wrong (what he says anyway). That she's immature...

But like alot of relationships like this, the abused doesnt leave. They stay in the relationship because they love them or are "afraid" to lose them.

When she speaks of how she wonders what her mom and dad would say - it they knew she cried each day...I think that's her saying she wants to tell them she's in "trouble". Maybe her parents tried to warn her but now they have a strained relationship. I was in an abusive relationship once and he managed to end my communications with my family. (Controlling). Maybe that's what she's saying there.

Anyway - it may not be about this at all...but maybe I heard it that way because of that past relationship. Either way... powerful song!

I feel like this song is about rape l, Verbal and physical abuse and how so many people blame the victim, you don't tell the people around you because you don't want to be pegged as the bad guy. Youre already confused and dazed about the situation and sometimes aren't ready to talk about it so you go on being cold and feeling alone.

I believe that she is being honest with herself.Even though she may be talkig to someone else, she is also realizing her flaws. She is obviously talking to someone she has a close relationship with. She is saying that she feels immature. She is making excuses or giving reasons for why she is the way she is.

I think it's about being horrible to everyone but the one that really hurts you and makes you angry it's about taking it out on the people who are the closest to you

for me it seems like the singer actually apologizes for who she is in front of her good friend or lover who got hurt from her somehow. her life isnt easy and this makes her act weird and wrong sometimes. she's afraid to loose her lover because of her strange acting. her distress and misery are big, because she needs to handle with her difficulties and also, she hurts people, what makes her hate and be angry at herself, even if she shouldnt...

This about about her and she admits to her parents that she is feeling immature about growing up and she also feels sad hence the name of this song "Sad Song"

Its hard growing up ("growing up goes slow")and once you do grow up and move out ("and its hard enough to live so far away")it all hits you at once and the situation sinks in. I think she may be apologizing to a boyfriend or best friend that might be wondering what her problem is, and she feels sorry for avoiding them for a bit because she's occupied with a difficult life.
