    Ed Sheeran is very loyal to his girlfriends. It hurts and disgusts him to see his recent ex seen with an overrated, self obsessed- "spend five hundred pounds on jeans" boy. She is regretting leaving Ed and constantly mentions her "New Man" in an attempt to get him to want her again. All Ed can do is sit back watch the show and make witty remarks about her new lover. However, sweet Ed also wants her to be happy, citing that "Remember you're still free", wants her to stand up for herself. Good reference to this song is "Don't".
