Stay Lyrics

Green light, seven eleven
You stop in for a pack of cigarettes
You don’t smoke
Don’t even want to
Hang out, check your change
Dressed up like a car crash
Wheels are turning but your upside-down
You say when he hits you
You don’t...

I think that this is about someone who is either really depressed and caving in from all of the negative energy and abuse, explaining "As an angel hits the ground", or someone who has no more reason to live, just trying to feel something from abuse of someone they love, explaining "You stop in for a pack of cigarettes, You don't smoke, don't even want to".

This song was originally sang by the band U2. I dislike this band so I was surprised I like this song. It talks about a girl that is a victim. Song starts out her doing something just to distract herself like buy a pack of cigarettes. Even though she doesn't smoke. She up late cuz they talk about talk shows and advertisements, like what is on late at nite on radios and tvs. It then outwardly states she's being hit by a man. As in abuse making her a victim. But she says when he hits her she feels alive. Meaning she gets pleasure out of it. Later in the song it says a vampire or a victim it depends on whose around. Saying she's a victim being hit by her lover according to other people. But when no one is around she feeds off the negative energy and pain like a kind of vampire. At the end it says a bang and a clatter as an angel hits the ground. Saying the girl's final purity has left her for good
