This Close Lyrics

Had a dream that we were dead
But we pretended that we still lived
With no regrets we never bled
And we took everything life could give

And came up broken empty handed in the end
In the hearts of the blind, something you'll never find

It's about wanting something, watching someone that has it, and pretending that thing is yours, but then you lose yourself in the process.
'In the hearts of the blind, something you'll never find is a vision of light', the blind imagines the way light would look, and it's more beautiful in their minds than it really is, someone who can see will never behold this light, so sometimes it is better to pretend.

'Had a dream that we were dead, but we pretended that we still lived' It's most likely an accurate metaphor, the dead want to live, but this time with no hardships and always making the right decisions, but they can't, they end up 'empty handed'.

'-not once in life have I been real but I've never been this close before, I've looking in you window, I've been dressing in your clothes, I've been walking dead, watch you, long enough to know I can't go on' your fantasy will only take you so far, at some point you either can't stand the fake or you can't stand reality.

'fire fell from an opening in th sky, someone warnned me of this hell, and I spit in his naive eye, and left him crying for my soul he said would die' a loved one wants them back in reality, but because they're life is a living hell they don't want to. (It almost makes me think that they are using something to make thier fantasy seem real, -i.e drugs-.
