Godsmack: Greed Meaning
Greed Lyrics
Sickened by your face.
By the way, to think that you're so fucking kind?
You ain't!
Hard to find how I feel, especially when you're smothering me.
Hard to find how I feel, please someone help...

This song is about a former friend of the band who lent them money to record the indie version of their first CD. He said he didn't want any money back, but the band paid him back anyway along with an additional $10,000 as thanks. This guy then tried to sue them, saying he owned 10 percent of Godsmack. The song is just telling him off for being ungrateful and putting them through a year of negotiating with lawyers.

Definitely about being decieved, but it's most definitely saying that everything's about money, and that'll never be enough of it; ever; the greed won't ever be put to rest. So we just keep waiting for that day when it changes; and we all stand for what is right.
-
its about how a "friend" helped the band out, then tried to sue them afterwords. that incident inspired them to write and record "Greed". amazing song, btw

-
A common middle class frustrated person's imagination of people contributing towards his/her frustration.
(in this case, the Band imagines, the rent- nagging landlord as a
very greedy corrupt guy ) -
it's about another person backstabbing you by deception. you once put some trust in them and they tried taking you down for their gain. so be glad you finally walked away, cause you may have not lived another day.
-
I think this song is about how people are greedy and don't care about the consequences.
