Maroon 5: Wake Up Call Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Wake Up Call Lyrics
I didn't hear what you were saying.
I live on raw emotion baby
I answer questions never maybe
And I'm not kind if you betray me.
So who the hell are you to say we
Never would have made it babe.
[Bridge]
If you needed...
-
He's angry over her having an affair. If she needed more love, he wanted her to ask for it or act like she needed it, because he didn't have a clue. It's a huge wake up call to his ego. He fantasizes about killing the other guy and telling her he won't come around anymore, and that he doesn't feel bad about it. Love makes you do crazy things, and he's willing to act on it because of his jealousy and pain. He asks her doesn't she care about him anymore. He doesn't think she does.
-
After see her girlfriend cheating her.He killed the cheater who had cheated with his girlfriend but later in the song(breakdown)he says should not have done that. And asked his girlfriend why did you this.
-
He came home and another man was in his bed with his girlfriend.
-
This son explains itself...
"didnt hear what you were saying" means that she is keeping something from him, "I live on all emotion baby" means that he is going through tough times because of everything, and "answer questions never maybe" means he knows everything, or is trying to get something out of her...not entirely sure "if you needed love, well then ask for love, could have given love, now I'm takin love" could mean that she wanted him to care for her more, or even sex, but now that something has happened he is leaving her "wake up call" means get real, everything isn't a fairy tale, your going to get in trouble, something along those lines, "caught you in the morning with another one in my bed" he caught her sleeping with someone else, the rest of the song, he kills the guy
