Melanie Martinez: Gingerbread Man Meaning
Gingerbread Man Lyrics
I don't need a man to make my life sweet.
Prince Charming, just isn't the one that I think I need.
You're thirsty, you think I give out all my shit for free.
I'm bursting, out laughing at idiocy.
I need a Gingerbread Man, the...

It's a good song either way

I feel like the meaning of this song is that after the first boy and how that turned out(cake) she realizes that maybe trying something different would help her with the pain by finding a dude that catches her eye but doesn't notice her (a line from the song )but only for sex nothing more because she's not ready to be in a relationship again just yet as in the line of the song (I wanna feel your crumbs all over my body )

This is where Crybaby takes back what she said in 'Cake'. Now, she only wants a boy that will have sex with her. The "prince charming's" weren't the ones she wanted, so she decided to want the ones who were 'always crazy'. (See what I did there?)
-
Crybaby has gone through all these things and she just want's to have a jerk who would accept have sex with her because she doesn't want to stick with nice guys who would beat her heart one by one.
-
Melanie is looking for somebody who understands her and will know her a lot more better than all those other guys who do anything and try to be really romantic as this is where the "prince charming" lyrics come from because she doesnt want perfect guys she wants guys whp will love her for who she is
-
It's about her wanting somebody who can understand her type of level of craziness
-
The song is about Cry Baby's Christmas. She doesn't want her lover to be some kind of Prince Charming, she just wants him to have sex with her. She doesn't like that all the boys that like her want to be the perfect partner, she likes the boys who never seem to notice her, so she's stuck with guys who are too scared to have sex with her
-
She's using a guy for sex.
