Melanie Martinez: Nurse's Office Meaning
Nurse's Office Lyrics
Into the nurse's office where I float away
I'm pale as the loose-leaf paper they grow
From hollowing out all my lungs in the snow
Yeah, I'm coughing
I'm bleeding, Band-Aids won't heal it
'Cause they...

#1 top rated interpretation:Crybaby fakes pain and sickness to escape her tormenters, and judging by the line 'This is old, old, old" she's done this a lot before. She begs to be taken home, away from them. She pleads for them to stop, but they just will continue. She's suffering a pain that can't be healed with a band-aid. This also says how the teachers only do their basic jobs, they don't see their students feelings.

#2 top rated interpretation:“Nurses office” is about crybaby faking an illness to go home, and escape her bullies. She wishes she was sick but is not so she fakes it

Mel Martinez or CryBaby pretends to be ill or in pain in order to escape being tormented and bullied and return home, but the nurses' office got tired of her frequent visits and only gave her bandages after she grew weary of it.
-
"Nurses office" is basically saying Crybaby is being treated poorly by her classmates so she reports to a faking illness and she even fakes a seizure to get out of class.

This song is about school bullying. In one part of the song (Teacher, can I sit right there?/This bitch behind me is cutting my hair/No, just sit your ass down/At the chalkboard you stare/Faked up a seizure and left outta there), Cry Baby (character) wants to move seats because a bully is cutting her hair, but then the teacher gets mad, and so Cry Baby fakes having a serious illness so that she can go to the nurse's office and hopefully go home.

I feel like this song is a representation of the great lengths one has to go through just to get help, or feel safe in an environment which their safety should definitely be guaranteed in. The song talks about suffering from bullying at school. She undergoes so much cruel treatment by her peers all day long, and the teachers and staff don’t seem to care much at all. She can’t take it anymore so she takes matters into her own hands. She fakes being sick, fakes having seizures, etc, just to have an excuse to get out of class and not have to deal with the bullying. Because that is the only thing that will work for the staff to finally pay attention to her, and for her to get out of her situation.

Nurse’s Office is about Melanie going to the Nurse’s Office to avoid being in class because she’s bullied/annoyed by her classmates. It’s kind of like ditching the class, or taking a quick break. She also mentions she wants to go home because of this.
-
Its about how the school and students hurt her in such a way that she fakes being ill to get away, only for everything to be ignored(in the video they give them happy drugs) and, on the outside, everything at school seems hunky dory, when really, everything is corrupted at their school. It's about how there is so much wrong with their society, and how, not matter how hard she tries, she can't escape the pain and everything she endures is covered up, and in the case of k-12 the movie, they give them drugs to make them happy again and refuse to acknowledge the pain Melanie and Angelita are dealing with

I think it's about Melanie being bullied by this b**** called Kelly. So she fakes a seizure so then she can escape her bully and go home. She has done this many other times and she said it's getting old. But she is too scared to face to face her bully so she continues to do the same thing over and over.

“Nurse’s Office” is a heartbreaking song. The amount of pain and bullying that might cause someone to fake being seriously ill is staggering. If you, or anyone you know is being bullied, there are people who care and who can help. Though the teacher in “Nurse’s Office” is apathetic, most teachers will be understanding and helpful. If they aren’t, go to others who can help. Friends in the class, other teachers, and especially parents. You are valuable and you never deserve to be mistreated. You should never be abused the way Melanie Martinez’s character is, or feel that faking sickness is your only escape. It’s my hope that none of you experience bullying of any kind, but if you do, please know that you don’t deserve it. You are worth standing up for, no matter what you’re told. You are worthy of love, no matter how you’re treated. You are loved and infinitely important, no matter how you feel or what anyone thinks of you. I hope there are people telling you that all the time, but if there aren’t, it’s still just as true.

It’s about Crybaby wanting to skip school because of all the bullies and the neglecting teachers. “Teacher, can I sit right there? This b**** behind me is cutting my hair. No, just sit your ass down at the chalkboard and stare. I faked up a seizure and left outta there.”
Crybaby has been skipping school for a long time. “This is o-o-old. I’m tired of wishing I was ditching.”
Have a good day/night! -
Cry baby is simply talking about life and how things can have shortcuts to them but at the end of the day can’t be fixed sometimes. she begs the nurses in the movie to not hurt her anymore much like we ask life to not throw us as many curves as it does. Crybaby is simply trying to be herself without judgement
