My Chemical Romance: Blood Meaning
Blood Lyrics
Send you roses when they think you need to smile.
I can't control myself because I don't know how,
And they love me for it honestly, I'll be here for a while.
So give them blood, blood, gallons...
-
This song is rather mean to the fans.
It's saying that we've been latching onto the band and they just wanted a break and we keep begging them for more. 'I gave you more than you could drink and it is never enough' is a clear line justifying that. -
Blood could be an interpretation or metaphor of like love and hard work, a character being in a war, he gave his blood for the war and never got anything back. a good amount of their songs are about war. well they encourage your complete corporation could mean the war expects you to do as you are called for and when you are called for. Send you roses when they think you need to smile. could mean when you're going to give up they help you. I can't control myself because I don't know how and they love me for it honestly I'll be here for a while...could mean he doesn't want to be here but he knows they need him. and he knows he will be here in the army for awhile. So give them blood blood gallons of the stuff give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough so give them blood blood bloooooooood grab a glass because there is going to be a flood. could mean he always gives and he never gets credit, he shows off to them and they still don't care because its his duty. etx. etc...
this is all a guess, but it seems right to me! or not idk!! -
I think its referring back to vampires will never hurt you
its about how people will benefit from you and will always want more -
This can be in "the patient's" perspective as he's delerious from the cancer. Because of him being sick, he needs to have blood taken constantly, and in his delirium, it's as though everyone wants the blood for their own sake, maybe to drink, because they just keep taking it. No matter how much they get they keep taking more. He's awful about it, but they love him anyway for giving blood. They try and get him to cooperate, with gifts and putting up with him, but...
-
The song blood still has to do with the concept of the black parade. It's about how the patient sees all the doctors at the hospital as vampires because all they do is take blood tests and samples.
-
I heard blood is a medaphore as well, and it's about the record companies and that they always want more and more. It was in some interview with My Chem, they went though all of their songs and said what they were about.
-
I think Blood is about the lead singer having to go to the hospital constantly "The doctors and the nurses they adore me so" and giving blood to his father who is dying of cancer. "So give them blood, blood Gallons of the stuff" But no matter how much blood he gave his father, it wasn't enough. "Give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough" And his father ended up dying of cancer.
-
Someone told me this song is actually about record companies and how no matter how much you give them, it;s never enough and you keep giving anyways. The blood is just a metaphor.
-
I believe this song is about Gerard Way telling his fans that he's giving them all that they can listen to, and it will never be enough .
"I give them all that they can drink, but it will never be enough." -
It was just a little joke. Couldn't you tell by listening? MCR is saying they haven't forgotten their roots, even though they've changed. But I think it's amazing that Blood has more reviews than some of MCR's more powerful songs XD
-
This song is about them giving their fans everything, and fans always want more. It's a funny song. Anyway, I feel it derives from the saying "I gave you blood, sweat and tears. What more do you want?"
Wait until the songs sweat and tears come out!
^.^ :-D -
This may not be right. I think 'Blood' is about the media.
'I can't control myself because I don't know how, and they love me for it, honestly' - face it, famous people are always screwing up in front of the press. and the press love it.
'I gave you blood, blood... I gave you all that you could drink and it will never be enough' - no matter what happens, how much you give, the media are always thirsty for more.
I could give more examples but I've forgotten them.
(if you think this is rubbish, just bear in mind I am 12 and I am not sure about it myself) -
I'm very surprised to see that not anyone has thought about the possibility of it being anti-war, I mean "encourage complete cooperation" they being the gov. want us to do what they tell us is important for the war, " I can't control myself cause I don't know how" the gov. Is becoming more and more controlling over our lives, because they know whats best for us and think we don't know, "they love me for it honestly ILL BE HERE FOR A WHILE" most definitely coming from a soldiers point of view because under current legislation the military have the right to extend the length of a soldiers deployment if he is active and his contract expires, "give them blood blood gallons of the stuff, give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough" meaning that no matter how many casualties and deaths they are still keeping the soldiers in harms way when they are making no progress so it seems that no matter how drastic the suffering is and the exponential amount of blood loss they will never pull them out
