Of Monsters and Men: Yellow Light Meaning
Yellow Light Lyrics
But everything feels so different now.
Just grab a hold of my hand,
I will lead you through this wonderland.
Water up to my knees,
But sharks are swimming in the sea.
Just follow my yellow light,
And...

I think that this song is a representation of a bombing. When the lyrics say "everything feels so different now" it could be referring to a war. The "sharks" could be the opposing nation who are confronting them in the upcoming turmoil (The water). The warning signs may be the sirens that flare when the bombs go off. In the next part, they talk about a howling beast, which could be the leader. This could possibly apply to hitler and maybe WWII. The colors in disguise could be an individuals true identity that was masked by their religion (Jews), or some other factor that they were discriminated against. When she is running, and the earth is shaking that is literally her reacting to the bombing. The light is that of the bomb, and the soft walls that are eating them are the shock waves that destroy their body. Through out the course of the song, Ragnar seems like he is trying to convince Nanna that everything will be okay, trying to tell her that death is okay and to just grab my hand, and I will lead you through this. The music and the end is beautiful, and seems peaceful; content with dying. Thats just how I view it though :)

no interpretation for this song: I take it first degree: a wonderful and horrible nursery rhyme.
This girl has been eaten alive by a whale or some seamonster but she doesn't realize or doesn't want to face the truth, seems like a bad dream: at least she is not alone. -
This song has been one of my favorite for many years now. I personally believe it's about a person going through some traumatic event(s). The man in the song is trying to help her. Guide her. Make her feel safe. Shes weary because she has been left down by many people and she doesn't know if he really is someone she can trust. Hope.

She´s lost and confused. In a totally different place, where infinite unseen creatures are always watching. She´s tired now, surrending. She finds, not a someone, but a something, trying to lead her where she´s meant to be. She follows, knowing it´ll take her to a better place, but she´s taken to dangerous places she wasn´t meant to be. Or maybe she was. She´s starting to get scared of the darkness, he´s trying to calm her down. Finally, she gets to her destiny, in the deepest part of the "wonderland", finds death, so she can finally rest in peace.
This song can have lots of starts, but I see that the ending is the same, fear and death. -
The girl is going through a rough situation after she had to flee from her home, and only her boyfriend is with her. He's trying to give her hope and happiness as they venture out in the wilderness, but she's scared and doesn't know if they could go back to civilization after fleeing. She feels like soft walls are eating her alive, like she has given up. But the boyfriend is convincing her life isn't so bad, and that everything happened for a reason. Then, the girl hears a wolf cry, and remembers when something shook her ground. She winds up crying and trying to run away, but the boyfriend holds her back and tells the song.
