Brick by Boring Brick Lyrics
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of a world that she's left behind
It's all about the exposure, the lens, I told her
The angels are all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of...
-
She lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of the world that she's left behind
(This is showing and talking about people who have mind controlling disorder [Manarch like the butterly that will come later] escape their reality to a place they have created were no one can reach them and they are no longer aware of their reality only the 'fairy tale')
It's all about the exposure the lens I told her
(This is about how is she looks at life and doesn't run then things would be easier)
The angles were all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of butterflies
(This is talking about how things are not as they should be and back the the butterflies like earlier she is ruining her life by taking on the disorder and you ruin a butterly by taking their wings)
keep your feet on the ground
when your head's in the clouds
(Often when someone has this disorder they aren't actually floating their feet are on the groung but they feel as though they are weightless)
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle; bury the castle
(This is saying how she needs to get rid of her fairy tales and just bury them, the fairy tales being the castle)
Ba da ba ba da ba ba da
So one day he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
(this is like the actually reality she is finaly realizing and it is to much for her so she starts crying)
Her prince finally came to save her
(When she goes back to her perfect little world and sees a prince who isn't actually a prince but a man that is going to abuse her)
And the rest you can figure out
But it was a trick
(She thought that it really was a prince by her imaginary world but it tricked her and the rest you can figure is talking about how we know its not really a prince but someone most likely going to beat her)
And the clock struck 12
(12 noon or midnight is a time that is very final and its showing how it happened but she didn't really realize it)
Well make sure to build your house brick by boring brick
or the wolves gonna blow it down
(This part of the songs shows how you should really just build a strong life and keep is simple and if you don't your going to be destroyed)
keep your feet on the ground
when your head's in the clouds
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
(Pre-explained)
Well you built up a world of magic
Because your real life is tragic
Yeah you built up a world of magic
(It's just how it sounds.. no more no less)
If it's not real
You can't hold it in your hand
You can't feel it with your heart
And I won't believe it
But if it's true
You can see it with your eyes
Or even in the dark
And that's where I want to be, yeah
(In this part is when she doesn't know whats real or whats fake anymore and she is to far in her fairy tale world to tell the differance between the two, and in the end it is pretty much said that her world is true because she can feel it in her heart and see it at anytime because its in her heart and she believes it) -
I think this song is about a girl who feels trapped every where she goes she faces rejection, it is like a brick falling on top of her. But this is the thing it has happened so many times to her it has become mundane. So she creates this world where tragedies don't happen, but where your fantasties come to life. All so she can escape the horror of her own life.
-
My interpretation of this song is that Hayley, as a child, had a very overactive imagination. She used this imagination to escape from the real world and ended up going in way too deep. When she got a little older, she realized she didn't have to use her imagination anymore. However, her imagination wouldn't let her leave, making her mental state not too good. It is then, that older Hayley realizes she has to bury her childhood (represented by the little girl in the video) in order to live the life she deserves.
-
Sorri if i'm wrong but i think this song is about a little girl (obviously) Could be Haley....running away with her imaginaton from problems in her life. Maybe she is happier in her fantasy world then in the real world and that's fine sometimes fantasy is better than reality. (speaking from experience.)
-
I think the meaning is about something about her past life like she wants to say in that song that her real life was so tragic that she wants to bury it all away
-
I think that this song is about burying your past.
-
I think this song is about loss of innocence. dig a deep hole and burry a castle, is to take your childhood fantasies away.
And if you watch the video and listen to the lyrics you might be able to derive that it's about what a man can do to steal innocence away from a young girl
"So one day he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out"
... But i do also agree that it could just be about having to face reality. -
I think this song is about a girl who is stuck in a fairytale world, and at first she loves it and wouldnt want to be anywhere else, but soon she starts to go crazy and 'ripping the wings off of butterflies'
And for, "keep your feet on the ground while your heads in the clouds" it means try to stay sane, basically.
And the chorus "Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle" means lets bury the castle, as in trying to get rid of all the fairytale world, and to go home.
The second verse,
So one day, he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out
But it was a trick
And the clock struck twelve, well make sure
To build your house brick by boring brick
Or the wolf's gonna blow it down
is just fairytale references. "And the clock struck twelve" is Cinderella, we'll "build your house brick by boring brick" as in go back to the way things were. And "or the wolfs gonna blow it down" is the three little pigs, lets make the house out of bricks, lets be smart.
The bridge is, "Well you built up a world of magic
Because your real life is tragic
Yeah you built up a world of magic... "
well this girl, who is in this fairytale land, has created it to get away from real life. because her "real life is tragic"
tghe last part of the bridge, If it's not real
You can't hold it in your hand
You can't feel it with your heart
And I won't believe it
But if it's true
You can see it with your eyes
Oh, even in the dark
And that's where I want to be, yeah!
i think it means if your heart doesn't believe it, then you won't believe it yourself, basically the old "follow your heart" lesson.
And...thats my interpretation. -
I think that this is a song about growing up. She lives in a fantasy world as a child because reality is just to hard to face sometimes but when you can't avoid reality anymore the fantasty world begins to die and go bad. In order to grow up, the little girl inside of her has to die and she has to 'bury her castle' in a sense. Only when she can do this can she grow up and face reality.
-
There's a theory going around that it coud be about Monarch Programming. Which is basically torturing a child so much they create a completely alternate universe, soon they can't figure out real life from fantasy.
I'm not sure about this, and that isn't all about Monarch Proframming. Look it up if you want more information. -
I could be right or wrong about this.
{Verse 1}
She lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of a world that she's left behind
It's all about the exposure, the lens, I told her
The angles are all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of butterflies
(this is about how she's in her own fantasy, not in her own world, but a world that she believes is real, but everything about this isn't real.)
{Pre-Chorus}
Keep your feet on the ground
When your head's in the clouds
(she's still in the real world, but her mind isn't.)
{Chorus}
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Ba-da ba ba-da ba ba da
(her friends are trying to tell her the guy she loves isn't the one and they try to make her realize that everything isn't what she think it is.)
{Verse 2}
So one day, he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out
But it was a trick
And the clock struck twelve, well make sure
To build your house brick by boring brick
Or the wolf's gonna blow it down
(her lover found her and she thought he'd save her from her friends that are telling her that he's not the one for her, but then it was too late for her to realize that he's not as perfect as she thought he was so she's trying to get away.)
{Pre-Chorus}
Keep your feet on the ground...
When your head's in the clouds...
{Chorus}
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
We'll bury the castle, bury the castle
{Bridge}
Well you built up a world of magic
Because your real life is tragic
Yeah you built up a world of magic...
(she blinded herself in a perfect world which turns out to be a nightmare.)
If it's not real
You can't hold it in your hand
You can't feel it with your heart
And I won't believe it
But if it's true
You can see it with your eyes
Oh, even in the dark
And that's where I want to be, yeah!
(she realizes it but its too late and all of her friends left her behind.)
{Chorus}
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
(the deep hole is for her, since technically she screwed up her life so bad that she's a dead b*tch.)
{Outro}
Ba-da ba ba-da ba ba da
Ba-da ba ba ba-da ba ba
[X3]
Ba-da ba ba-da ba ba da
Ba-da ba ba ba ba-ba ba ba
the end. That's what the song is technically.
a girl falls in love with the perfect guy, who isn't what she thought he was so her friends try to tell her that, but she wouldn't listen and when she finally realized it, she was too late since she lost her friends and she screwed up her life. -
I think its about falling in love with someone and you are so blind to who they are because youre falling in love with the idea of that person and then once the fairytale image of that person fades you realize that person isnt that great, or just falling in love with someone who does not have legit feelings for you.
-
I think this song could be about a boy.. just a theory
She lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of the world that she's left behind
(she has met this new boy and is so caught up in him she's forgotten everything else)
It's all about the exposure the lens I told her
The angles were all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of butterflies
(she doesn't want to listen to anyone who says he's wrong for her even though its the truth)
keep your feet on the ground
when your head's in the clouds
(she needs to get a grip on reality even though her thoughts are only around him)
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle; bury the castle
Ba da ba ba da ba ba ha
(she needs to get rid of this fantasy land she's living in because she's about to be heartbroken)
So one day he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out
But it was a trick
And the clock struck 12
(she met this new guy while she was upset with another boy so she thinks he's just what she needs to get her back on her feet, but really, he was just a player, and he doesn't really care about her)
Well make sure to build your house brick by boring brick
or the wolves gonna blow it down
(she needs to make sure her guard is up and she needs to be strong because this boy is just gonna hurt her)
keep your feet on the ground
when your head's in the clouds
(she may think he's perfect but she needs to know she's not the only one he treats like royalty)
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
(she needs to get rid of this fantasy boy because he's not worth it)
Well you built up a world of magic
Because your real life is tragic
Yeah you built up a world of magic
(she fell for this guy so much only because she was so hurt about the guy before him)
If it's not real
You can't hold it in your hand
You can't feel it with your heart
And I won't believe it
(he wasn't the one, that's why it shouldn't last)
But if it's true
You can see it with your eyes
Or even in the dark
And that's where I want to be, yeah
(when you do find the one, you'll know, no matter what)
Go get your shovel
We'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
(move on)
Guys x2:
ba da ba ba da da ba da......
Hayley x2:
ba da ba ba da ba ba da..... -
She lives in a fairytale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of a worldl that she's left behind
(This is about being so wrapped up in your imagination you struggle to get back to reality)
It's all about the exposure
The lens I told her
The angles are all wrong now she's ripping wings off of butterflies
(Photographic language is used to represent her outlook, but she won't take Hayley's advice, 'the lens I told her' so she rips wings off butterflies in teh sense that she doesn't tell anyone of her dreams-butterflies-pulling the wings off so she doesn't tell anyone anymore and they can't 'fly' to anyone else.
Keep your feet on the ground
When your head's in the clouds
(Don't drift too far from reality, OR the person's mental state-they are physically there but their mind is elsewhere)
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle
Bury the castle
(Hayley is still trying to help, offering a figurative shovel to help them bury their fantasies)
Ba da ba ba da ba ba da(Means nothing but sounds so awesome!)
So one day he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out
But it was a trick and the clock struck 12
(She thinks she's found her prince but he wasn't all he seemed to be)
Well make sure to build your home brick by boring brick
Or the wolf's gonna blow it down
(Living life in reality might seem to take a long time like building a house and be quite boring but it will stop you from being naive and being caught unawares by wolflike people.)
You built up a world of magic because your real life is tragic, yeah you built up a world of magic (Need I say anthing?)
If it's not real you can't hold it in your hand you cna't feel it with your heart and I won't believe it but if it's true you can see it with your eyes, oh even in the dark and that's where I want to be
(She is saying it is obvious when things aren't real because she can't believe it but when it's real you're sure it's there even in the dark.)
When the dudes start singing 'ba da ba ba da ba ba da..' at the end it sounds well fit! This song is immense! -
might be wrong, feel free to correct me, but i think;
(before she goes in its raining butterfly wings)when she goes first into that place she takes hers off,(showing shes left that the real world) shes escaping her problems, acting innocent and childish, the girl now lives in a “fairy tale” "too far to find" he little world is all her imagination, and then the castle is like her sub consciousness and the mirrors reflect her mental state, then when stuff comes out the mirror shes freaked out and runs away because its not part of her "fairy tale world"and by "escaping" the real world,"with her head in the clouds" blocking out all her problems shes digging her own grave.
sorry i miss english :(
