Rammstein: Feuer Frei Meaning
Feuer Frei Lyrics
vom feuer das die haut verbrennt
ich werf ein licht
in mein gesicht
ein heisser schrei
feuer frei
bang bang
bang bang
geadelt ist wer schmerzen kennt
vom feuer das in lust...

Although it isn't going along the rest of the sex-related interpretation, the first part definitely makes me think about suicide. Being criticised for feeling pain and throwing "light" to one's own face. Bang bang. Still, the second part refers to sex and the third to a child. There are two ways to see this in my opinion. The most widespread seems to be that it refers to the duality of fire as passion/death, sex/pain, but the "burnt child" seems off, being dangerous because he "knows pain". But heh this is Rammstein, nothing is ever as simple as it seems. There is a chronology to see there, the song possibly describes rape or even more litterally and gross, the torture and murder practice of raping a woman with a gun and firing while doing it. It may seem far fetched, but as here the woman would be pregnant, it would be a double murder, including a burnt (shot) child, and a humiliated, tortured, and killed mother. The characters sound like vengeful ghosts who are dangerous because of the horrors that were done to them, and this beyond death: the suicide and the two victims. This would explain the reccurence of the first line of the song. Of course this fire that is death is also still passion and lust, we all still have the satisfaction to kill inside us and it does our "luck"/"pleasure": Feuer Frei would actually be both catharsis and a scream against cruelty.

Interesting shade of meaning. I hadn't realized that although gluck is often translated pleasure it also means luck. So that line could be translated "you are getting lucky and I'm humiliated" which is interesting considering Till seems to be simulating oral sex in the videos. Perhaps the light he talks about having thrown in his face isn't light afterall! Open fire indeed.

A pun of nature of fire - in can hurt, it can burn with passion, it heats up minds and bodies of those, who are making love, but also it can kill those innocent.
Ironically, I think that all sense of this song are explained by the least hearable part - 'Your luck is not mine, it's my misery.'. What one can perceive as good, another can take as evil etc.
