Rammstein: Sonne Meaning
Song Released: 2001
Sonne Lyrics
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, out
Everyone is waiting for the light
be afraid, don't be afraid
the sun is shining out of my eyes
it will not set tonight
and the world counts...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:Okay if you wanted to call every single German song a Nazi song, we might as well say that every American song has something to do with massacring indians and taking their lands. Stop being so damn ignorant
Seriously, whoever stands up for the first guy is probably an asshole himself. -

#2 top rated interpretation:I don't mean to be bitchy but I came here for the meaning of the song! Not people saying that Rammstein are Nazis! That's the biggest pile of bullshit I've ever heard anyway!

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:I think the song is about the fall of the Berlin wall, after all Rammstein is an East German band, The counting could be them waiting for such an event to happen, Plus the video shows them as dwarves which could be citizens of a communist country and then Snow White would represent the government, It even show Snow White dying from an over dose which would represent the government taking to much from the people.

The song Sonne was supposed to be played for a wrestler that’s why they are counting up. I doubt there’s a special meaning in the song.

When you hear this song doesn't it hits you deep? Don't the lyrics touch you deep in your soul? Doesn't lift emotions out of your spirit in powerful ways. When you see the video can you take your eyes away?
This is a very powerful song with occulted symbolism. This song and video touch on a extremely powerful human emotions and deep inner struggles every human is dealing with during this universal trial.
Btw your on trial... better be careful what you say and do. We are watching you. -
I think this song is definitely a version of the old greek tale Icarus. Where Icarus flies too close to the sun and melts its wings and falls to the ground.
-
Ok so it literally means here comes the sun, like the beatles song so stop it with the nazi stuff

In Germany and Austria (where I am coming from) we just interpret is a box fight between two men. Just as simple ;)
I think Rammstein is not into any political comment through their music.
They love to play the "Nazi" thing, because every idiot is reacting on it ;) And in Germany and Austria there is no death penalty since the early 60s anymore. So... nobody get is killed by his or her own government.
In the end: in Germany real 'Nazi' music would be censored immedialty. It is not excapted but by real idiots.

If Rammstein were a Nazi band they can be tried in court and if found guilty killed i think, and they are still alive soo....... common knowledge........ use it
-
its about the atomic bomb going off.. here come the sun.... the brightness
-
really who gives a fucc what the bands political views are? this song rocks and i dont speak a fuckin word of german! u fags pull ur heads out ur ass and just hear the music
-
I prefer this translation of the lyrics (http://en.affenknecht.com/lyrics/rammstein-sonne-lyric-with-english-translation/). I think the song is about having hope.
-
You're all wrong. Sure its a play with Nazi-Propaganda. Never heard of the Hitlerjugend-book of 1935 "Uns geht die Sonne nicht unter"? And you did not know the text in this Nazi-Songbook in the song "Brüder, zur Sonne, zur Freiheit"? Than you will see some strange interpretation of the grimm-farytale.

I know its not a Nazi song but you have to admit you could see old pictures of the ss marching to this. It just gives me a sense of pride when i hear this song.
-
I came here to find out the meaning of the song, please you RETARDS stop arguing if its nazi or not. Give me the MEANING

The film-clip talks about "wolves dressing as lambs" and losing innocence, but could someone explain the SONG as such please? I'm curious to know.
Oh and i love how Rammstein "take the piss" out of Disney's Snow White in their film-clip!
Snow White was and is my favourite fairytale, and my nickname is actually Snow White because i have her features, and i was shitty with the appearance and personality Disney gave her, they've made her absolutely fake and butchered the fairytale!!!! *sobs* So therefore, it was nice to see some comedy toward it. I'd like to see them do some more sadistic Disney adaptations
