Rammstein: Zerstyren Meaning
Zerstyren Lyrics
Den Rest in Schutt und Asche legen
Zerreißen zerschmeißen
Zerdrücken zerpflücken
Ich geh am Gartenzaun entlang
Wieder spür ich diesen Drang
Ich muss zerstören
Doch es darf nicht mir gehören
Ich muss...
-
Guys, 'Zerstören' is about G.W.Bush who behaved like a stupid little kid, destroying anything in his way without having the brains to think before doing so!
And yes, it's Devrim Kaya who you can hear in the beginning -
The first words of the songs are claimed to be singed by Devrim Kaya, and come from HUMA KUŞU, at least someone has written something like that in one of the videos.
I think two interpretation are possible:
1) The boy is actually destructive and the girl left him because of that.
2) The boy found his true love, but she left him so he indulges his despair by destroying things.
It is hard to tell, because the order of the events is unknown in this song.
In my case, I think it's... one of the saddest songs of Rammstein. Some people can commit suicide in despair, lose their mind or become depressed for months...
But some can change way of thinking and try to pass all the pain, evil and harm on, by raping, beating up and killing others as a way to make up for their fate unfairness. -
ok, first it's Zerstoren with the umlaut o in it. any way it's about a your typical eight year old boy and hoe destructive they can be without realizing it. that's it
-
Maybe...when it talks about destroying "things", it means that the guy destroys relationships? This I "guess"(I'm not convinced at all of my interpretation)from the final verses about the blind girl...she's the only one who understands him, they share the same pain and thoughts, but, as she becomes able to see, she leaves him. So, I think the boy says that, even if he tries, he can't stop raving, destroyng the things he loves and the things he hates.
