Rammstein: Rosenrot Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Rosenrot Lyrics
Blühte dort in lichten Höhen
Sprach sie ihren Liebsten an
ob er es ihr steigen kann
Sie will es und so ist es fein
So war es und so wird es immer sein
Sie will es und so ist es Brauch
Was sie will...

#1 top rated interpretation:Rosenrot is about how women have ways of getting what they want. The first verse roughly translates to a girl asking her boyfriend to get something for her from a high cliff, and that she gets what she wants.

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:Its not about rape. As several people said its about how a woman can manipulate those around her. But to clear up the song itself in the video the monk does things for his secret lover the girl. These acts include the murder of her parents. But only to be decieved and ratted out by her. This video shows that women are untrust worthy that at the first chance they get that they will stab you in the back despite your best efforts to please them. (this is in no way what i believe about women, just merely what the song and video state.)

I don't think this song is not just about rape (but it has something to do it).
I believe it's about a man who is tired of trying to win the girl's heart while she is taking advantage of his love. Maybe he is preparing some vendetta or something like that, but he is feeling bad about this because he used to love her so much. -

Heidenröslein is actually from Goethe....
But I agree, this is obviously about rape! -
yes
heines "Heidenröslein" is about rape
and useless eforts of revenge
starting off with:
"sah ein knab ein röslein stehn"
the paralelles are quiet obvious
useles?
not this time ;) -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
"Rosenrot" is taken from a Heinrich Heine poem called "Heidenröslein".

this song seems to be about how women know how to be manipulative and bend the world around their fingers. Also, if you see the musik video, it appears that the girl is just using her boyfriend for personal gain as she "turns him in" to the other villagers for.... pedophillia or something. i'm not 100% sure, so please correct me if you feel i was not accurate.
