Taylor Swift: Last Kiss Meaning
Song Released: 2010
Last Kiss Lyrics
Lit through the darkness at 1:58
The words that you whispered
For just us to know
You told me you loved me
So why did you go
Away
Away?
I do recall now
The smell of the rain
Fresh on the...

I know its about Joe, but that doesn't matter, what Taylor was trying to say is, she loved 'Joe' very much, things changed, she missed him a lot because who wouldn't miss someone they loved? Taylor is down to earth and sweet, i know she would hope he was happy even though they are separated.

I'm guessing that this was about her relationship with Joe Jonas (hidden message was 'forever and always', a song which she wrote about him, and later confirmed that on the Ellen DeGeneres show.) It makes sense, because the two songs follow the same idea: he gave you the promise that he'd stay forever, he acted like he was going to fulfill it, and then suddenly left her without any notice.
-
I agree with you, it does sound like he died, I didn't see it like that before but now I see what you mean. It says that she's sitting alone on the floor in his clothes so if they broke up then why would he leave his clothes? and it says, "So I watch your life in pictures," why would she say that if his life was continuing? So the first part seems like he died but then the last part seems like they broke up cause it says, "And I keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are," and,"But I never planned on you changing your mind," she's not very good with showing the meanings to her songs

when i first heard this song it honestly just made my heart hurt. basicially its about her and joe jonas. there is no arguing about that. the lyrics match up as does the "forever and always" hidden message. Just because forever and always was more of a "bitter" song doesnt mean this one isnt about joe. when someone breaks up with you that you are in love with obviously your initial reaction is to be angry but eventually that all goes away and it just hurts unbearably. ultimatly the purpose of making music is not just to share your own story but make something that is applicable to the situations faced by those who hear it. so argue all day about who or what this(or any song for that matter) is about but really whats important is what it means to you in your own life
-
My interpretation is is that it's about Joe Jonas. It says that if you google the song. Also the caps(secret message) spells forever and always the hit song she wrote about him. Also the intro is 27 seconds long which is the length of the breakuup call. It's really sad but its not about a dead person because it says 'You could plan for a change in the weather and time. And I never planned on you changing your mind' And if your dead you can't really come back to life for your girlfriend just saying. And BTW better than revenge is about camilla belle stealing joe from her.
-
Yeah I think it IS probably Joe Jonas. And when someone breaks up with you, you're normally mad, then sad, then kind of wistful. I think this song is about her remembering the good parts of their relationship and being sad they broke up.

Last kiss is basically about a sudden breakup that happened COMPLETLY out of the blue - no one, not even her, say it coming. They were two peas in a pod, in love, perfect for each other, but the boy suddenly
Decided to change his mind, and left her for no reason.
Verse one and two - refers to what shaped the relationship - the memories, laughs, smells, everything
Pre chorus - refers to the fact that she wants to be the girl who someday he's going to think back to her and say, " oh, I wish I never let her go; I miss her" but she doesn't know how to do that
Chorus - refers to the fact that no one saw the end of their relationship ending, and that, like their last kiss, she's not going to forget
Verse three - refers to that even though he's shutting her out of his life, she still wants to be a part of his, even if it's watching him through pictures and hearing about him through their old friends, so she knows hes ok.
It's also saying that you can plan for many changes to happen in your life, but their breakup was the one thing she couldnt predict. -
Ok kids this song made the charts many years ago when Jonas's Grandparents were teens. -

This song is about Jeanette Clark and J.L. Hancock, who were both 16 years old when their car hit a tractor-trailer on a road in rural Barnesville, Georgia. They were on a date a few days before Christmas in 1962. A local gas station attendant helping with the recovery of the bodies did not recognize his own daughter.
This was written by Wayne Cochran, who lived near the road and was working on a song about all the accidents he saw on it. He finished it and dedicated it to Jeanette Clark.
Cochran's version was a local hit in Georgia, which prompted a Texas record company to record it with J. Frank Wilson and release it nationally.
The title came from both the dramatic high point of the song and Floyd Cramer's hit "Last Date."
Copies of Cochran's original version were sold out of the trunks of cars; Major Bill Smith (producer of "Hey Paula" by Paul and Paula) bought a copy and persuaded J. Frank Wilson & the Cavaliers to cover it.
Cochran went on to have limited success in the Miami area playing Rhythm & Blues with his band Wayne Cochran And The C.C. Riders. He wrote "Going Back To Miami," which was featured on the Blues Brothers live album. The bass player for Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders was Jaco Pastorius, who went on to revolutionize the electric bass. (thanks, Rick - Wanganui, New Zealand and Steve - cincinnati, OH)
In 1973, this was revived in Canada by the group Wednesday. Their version went to #1 there and earned several Juno nominations, and an RPM award foroutstanding record sales in Canada. It also was released in the US the same year, selling over 200,000 copies. (thanks, Brad Wind - Miami, FL, for above 3)
Pearl Jam introduced this to a new audience when they released it as a single in 1999. Their version also went to #2.
J.L. Hancock and Jeannette Clark's friend Wayne Cooper, who was riding with them, was killed instantly. Their two other friends, Jewel Emerson and Ed Shockley, survived with serious injuries.
Wayne Cochran's drummer had been dating Jeannette Clark's sister at the time of the wreck.
The band's producer, Son Roush, subsequently split the group to place lead singer J. Frank Wilson with better musicians. Four months after the release of this song, the new band were touring in Ohio. At about 5:15 a.m., Roush apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The car drifted left of center and rammed head-on into a trailer truck. Roush was killed instantly. Wilson survived with a few broken ribs and a broken ankle, but went right on with the tour, taking only a week off. People still remember him coming out on the stage on crutches to sing "Last Kiss" and "Hey, Little One." The second accident is what pushed this to #2 on the national charts.
Wilson later retired from music and went to work in a nursing home. (Thanks to Bluejay Young for this information). (thanks, Ekristheh - Halath, for above 4) -

if you think about it ,it can be about a boyfriend that suddenly past away. have you wver put your headphones in and just turned it up so loud you can not hear the person next to you talking. it just sounds sad to me. why does everything have to be joe jonas

This song is about being in love with someone who let's you down. You never thought that you'd see the day you broke up.... or for instance, had your "last kiss."
Taylor is basically saying she was so in love with him and never thought they'd break up... and they did and she's telling him if he ever wants her back he knows were to find her. -
In this song, the girl and the guy has a very special relationship but somehow it got lost somewhere. The guy - whom she seems to be most closest with decides to leave her and she is left broken-hearted. Wherever the girl goes, she knows his presence is still there with her but he does not feel the same with her.

This song is about a boy who was everything you ever wanted. You though that you were perfect together, he would be the 'one', and that you'd never have a 'last kiss'.
The first & second verse mentions all the memories they shared, and what she loved about him.
The chorus means that she never thought that they'd see the end, and that she'll never forget him (your name, forever the name on my lips)
The third verse mentions that she still cares about him (hope it's nice where you are. I hope the sun shines .. ), that she doesn't want to forget him, but he's doing his best to keep her out of his life (Ill keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are .. ) -
I think that it's about a guy who she loved so much and he left her without notice. She wishes that things had gone differently and that he'd realize that he misses her. She doesn't know how to move on without having him like when she says"But I'll go sit on the floor, wearing your clothes, all that I know is I don't know how to be something you miss". She wants him to miss her and she can't let him go because everything she does reminds her of him and she can't help it but to wish she was still his.
