I think this song is about someone being in an unstable/controlling relationship. The person's partner probably has some mental problems "She's crazy though, I guess there's something wrong inside." The partner frequently argues with the person, and blames them for the issues in the relationship, though the issues are caused by her. "But what if it's you, and it wasn't me?" However, the person still cares for their partner despite all the fighting and wants her to know that "Maybe we'll fight till it moves us along. I can't deny writing this song, hoping she'll find she's not alone."
