Three Days Grace: Get Out Alive Meaning
Get Out Alive Lyrics
As he faded away
Don't put your life in someone's hands
They're bound to steal it away
Don't hide your mistakes
'Cause they'll find you, burn you
Then he said
If you want to get out alive
Hold on for your...

When I hear this song I think of the show Teen Titans. It might sound weird but there is this main villain Slade, and all throughout the show he tries to control someone and make them his apprentice. He does succeed in getting the leader Robin (yes THAT robin a.k.a. Boy Wonder) ,and a girl named Terra. I think of this song as them both confronting another teammate named Raven who literally has a prophecy that can end the world. Go on YouTube and type in Get Out Alive Teen Titans , the video will say 4th place, it gave me this idea.
That video gave me the interpretation that someone is being told not to listen to evil and do what's right. -
I believe this song is about him trying to get away from his life, start a new life like he made mistakes and he's trying to hide from his past, his mistakes.
-
Ithink this song is also about sacification, taking your life to save another's. "no time for goodbyes, he said, as he faded away"
run for your life, get out ecause they are buying u time to escape -
its about having an addiction, to drugs, or simply anything you could get addicted to. "he said as he faded away" you lose who you are, especially with drugs. you forget what really matters to you. and he's telling others that if you're starting to get addicted to something, get hellp and stop (if you wanna get out alive, run for your life)
-
it may be about abuse, well thats what it sounds like, maybe dont trust people they arent perfect & they may turn on you.
-
I believe this song is about two friends or family members dying(at separate times), and he was talking about the world we live in today. With all its corruption and people being killed on the streets. "if i stay it wont be long till I'm burning on the inside." means they cant hold on to there life as they are dying and they accept it. "If I go, I can only hope that I make it to the other side." means they hope they will make it to heaven if the accept death. They are telling the narrator to "run for your life." To survive this world. "To get out all live" is to survive this world.
-
I think, it's a way of telling you to don't give up, to try to "escape", because if you give up you could end up losing stuff you appreciate or want, or "dying" as he expresses it. But that's my interpretation, and it gives me a bit of strength to don't give up in those hard times.
-
I think this song is about a guy who at first, is listening to some last advice from two of his loved ones, who say that he must not trust anybody suspicious-or he'll end up getting his life stolen or worse. They tell him he must run and move on if he wants to survive. Meanwhile, he is on the verge of danger, and he has a lingering feeling that is burning him on the inside, and he realizes that he can't stay here for long, and that he must follow his loved ones' advice and make it to the other side.
-
i think the song has to do with how you always have a choice. you can turn back, but you need to do it quick before you cant stop. its like his addiction. he tries to stop and finally did. hopefully. anyway, he sings how you always have a chance to turn around and "get out alive".
-
that is not about drugs at all. it's about relationships. 'don't hide your mistakes cause they'll find you, burn you' don't hide things that you've done that you shouldn't have, cause it's worse to make a mistake and then lie about it. 'don't put your life in someone's hands, they're bound to steal it away' if you love someone you're giving them the power to make or break you. and they almost always hurt you, stealing your life. 'This is my last time she said
As she faded away It's hard to imagine, but one day you'll end up like me' she's saying i'm leaving you and i'm not ever coming back. the dude was a friend or someone who he trusted, and she was the girl he was involved with. no offense, but i don't think the drug take even made sense. and the holocaust? seriously? do you even know the lyrics? -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
Sorry, for me its the drug deal. But personally it would be a good theme song for like a horror movie. That would be great. Cause the lyrics and rythem and melody is just soo unique.
I think it was perfect though.
This one right here
If I stay, it won't be long.
Till i'm burning on the inside
If i go, i can only hope
i make it to the other side.
That makes me think it's about dying. -
I don't know it just reminds me of some kind of holocaust reference..but that's just me
-
To tell the truth when I hear this song it reminds me of the holocaust reference...I don't know it's just me
-
I think you dead on, but one thing to consider is that the song may a little more general focusing on a vice someone has rather than just drugs. Think about it, addiction to any vice will slowly make you fade away. Fade away from your own being. Addiction to drugs, you forget who you are, addiction to sex, you forget who you are. It may be saying that you shouldn't indulge yourself in a vice, or even just indulge yourself in anything too much. "Burning on the inside" could also mean he's hurt on the inside, not so much physiologically but spiritually and morally. Your interpretation is very profound and i understand where your coming from.
