Lost in You Lyrics
And you always knew that it wouldnt be easy, to go back to the start to see where it all began.
Or end up at the bottom to watch how it all ends.
You tried to lie and say i was everything.

#1 top rated interpretation:My interpretation after hearing it 100 times and having half as many beers.
I always knew that you'd come back to get me. (He knew that this girl was on his hook kinda like Rose loves Charlie on 2 Half Men). And you always knew that it wouldn't be easy, to go back to the start to see where it all began, or end up at the bottom and watch how it all ends (even though she knows the result it would be hard to remember the good beginning, and eventually remember the painful ending). You tried to lie and say I was everything (she gave up on him but threw a hail mary to try to make him understand how she felt about him kinda like her last ditch effort). I remember when I said I'm nothing without you (He knew she was leaving but tried to get her to stick around, kinda how when we know a girl sees our unwillingness to commit and we know theyre sick of waiting so we bust out the L word). Somehow I found a way to get lost in you (When she walked he realized how much he actually loved and missed her). Let me inside, let me get close to you (He is now in regret that he let her go and is asking for another chance to get back into her life). Change your mind, or get lost if you want me to (He is kinda begging for another chance but if she doesn't want to let him in then he will let her go). Somehow I found a way to get lost in you (another plea for her heart because of his epiphany). You always thought that I left myself open (her belief that he never wanted to commit). But you didn't know I was already broken (his reason for not wanting to commit, probably because of his past realationships and fear of being hurt again). I told myself that it wouldn't be so bad, pulling away you took everything I had (he said to himself that if she leaves he would survive but when she left it ripped him apart because he realized how much it sucked without her). Overall I think that the song is about a guy hurt by other woman and becomes cold and unwilling to fall in love, he meets a girl that changes his outlook on love but only realizes it until she leaves because she is tired of waiting and now is hoping that its not to late to get her back. Guys can be just as deep ladies........ -

#2 top rated interpretation:Okay, the song is obviously about a relationship. And unlike many of TDG's other songs, this one seems to be relatively positive. My spin on it? The singer went through a very, very rough patch. He's now coming out of it, and in the process, is falling in love with someone. Maybe she's an ex. Maybe she's an old friend who he's only just starting to see in a new light. The overall point is, he tried to leave this person--and possibly quite a bit more--behind. "Pulling away took everything I had." In the process, she tried to stick it out with him, even though he's fully aware she had better things to do. Now, to his surprise, he's fallen for her. He found, without even meaning to, a way to get lost in her.
Anyway, that's my spin. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I think this is about him falling for a girl, and he's been in love with since they first met but is just now realizing it. And I think that they had their chance to be together but someone messed it up and that's why it says "i always knew you'd come back to get me, and you always knew it wouldn't be easy, to go back to the start to see where it all began, or end up at the bottom to watch how it all ends." And I think she led him on and told him he was her "everything" and even after he gave his all to her, she just kinda up and left him he still love her. And would do what ever she wanted him to do even if it meant losing her. And he wanted her to change her mind about him and take him back. And he wanted to forget about her but it hurt him so much and she came back into his life and he got lost in her again. He was back to where he started. And the rise and the fall is about her just leading him on all the time, moments he thinks he finally has her but she lets him down again but still everytime he sees her he gets lost in her.

I think this song is about a guy in love with a girl. But she doesn’t love him back. She led him on at the beginning to him he was her everything. In fact he was nothing. And he says that he’s nothing without her. He has gotten lost in her. In love with her. He’s begging her to change her mind about him. To give him another chance. To fall for him. For he’s so in love he can’t be without her.
It’s a very sad song that hits really hard. I’ve experienced this and wish no one the pain it caused. -
I can't say what this song is about exactly because I'm not Adam Gontier however it resonates with me as a song about a toxic relationship. He's falling for her and he loves her so much but she always pulls away and never let's him in.

I tend to think of this as part of a Tetralogy of songs.
Them being:
Lost in You.
Over & Over.
Last to Know.
& Gone Forever.
With the overall story being about how a love began with so much hope and joy in Lost in You between the protagonist and a girl, but the relationship hit a break in Over & Over as the protagonist is too enamoured with the girl, despite the fact she may be more trouble than she's worth. Then in Last to Know as the girl leaves the protagonist and leaves him for another love, possibly the protagonist's friend, but he finds stregnth within himself to realise she was not worth the trouble. With the protagonist now split he finds himself pondering about her from time to time, but he has come to accept that he's better off without her.
It's a tragic set of events, but I think it's a very beautiful line up that shows how some relationships are better leaving behind despite how good they might have started off as. -
this song' lyrics mean(what i can guess)is about adam's life.he know his life gave him so much pain, but he is just give it a chance to love him again .and trying to say to change it's decition.then he will come and live his live. adam truly love his life that h
e is nothing without it (
and think it had also promised)then it gave him pain but if it want adam will love it again -
somehow i found a way to get lost in you(remembering the past got him fell in love again). let me inside, let me get close to you (appealing to come back again). change your mind, i'll get lost if you want me too(she should change her mind but if she won't and wants him to leave,he'll).

TO IRONGIANT, I think you made the most appropriate interpretation. Listen this song tonight, for the first time and I quickly went to search meaning and lyric. It actually describe what I feel since days, since I realize I lost the only thing I wanted, loved. I am lost as the song or more. I read your comment many time....Indeed cold....never love again....and what scare, and make much more painful, I don't have same pain knowing I'll not see my son.......the price to pay for real love, but I don't regret. Good night to everyone!

It's about sex.
He was lost in his lovers vagina -
The song is about a heroin addiction.

instead of writing a long meaning to this song. ima tell you right now what it really means.
the guy fell for a girl who changed his mind. after being hurt many times he thinks it will be the same. she waits for him and when she gets tired she leaves. he notices how much he wants her back. so he tried to get her back.
i know the meaning of this song by heart cause it has happened to me to it easy find the meaning to it. -
I feel this means, ok here goes...
The times you break up with someone, they tear you apart. but then you just cannot get over the person, and you are lost in them. Time feels like pain as you wish you could get that person back and be lost even more in them... The love you have for them leaves a part of you in them...
But who cares what it means? It is a great song and one of my favorite songs.
Thank you.
