Three Days Grace: Let It Die Meaning
Let It Die Lyrics
In the beginning I
Never felt so alive
In the beginning you
You blame me but
It's not fair when you say that I didn't try
I just don't want to hear it anymore
I swear I never meant to let it die
I just don't care...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is about a guy who was in a relationship with a girl and the relationship got fucked up. The guy is blamed by the girl "You blame me but It's not fair when you say that I didn't try" The guy is just annoyed that the girl blames him and won't stop bugging him about it "I swear I never meant to let it die I just don't care about you anymore"

I was in a relationship that went exactly like this, it started off great no secrets at all then after a few months everything startrd going down hill, it felt like i was the only one trying like going to see her as much as i could without her making an effort to see me then when we broke up it was all my fault that, i didnt try hard enough to fit into her perfect image
-
this song is basically like what happened between me and my ex. at first it was great and there was passion and a spark between us and then slowly he just started to give up on the relationship and then i do blame him for letting our relationship go to waste. and then ofcourse the part about i just dont care about u any more its saying that. the girl is saying u let it die and that the guys feelings just went away and he doesnt care about her anymore and that he doesnt love her anymore....
-
i think this song is like he had a strong relation between him and his gf "we had fire in our eyes" + he says"in the beginning i never felt so alive " then she left him and after a while she tryed to get him back and its like she told him "i am sorry but it was your fault u didnt try to make our relation stronger" and its when he says "its not fair when u say i didnt try i just dont care about you anymore" he is saying he doesnt care about her now but he tryed to keep her with him.
-
i think that this song might be about an old friendship, that cooled off. "you say that i didn't try" probably means that the singers former friend is blaming them for the friendship dying hence the name "let it die"
-
It really describes what I believe my friend and I are going through. She is/was my best friend but she completely ignored me and replaced me for a week and she thinks that I did something. I went to another good friend for advice and she said to talk to her, but how do I talk to her if she's ignoring me?
It's not that I don't want to try, it's that I don't want to hear it anymore or that I don't want it to happen again. If it was that easy to replace me once, how do I know it won't happen again and more often? -
A girl is blaming a guy for there relationship dying, and its not necessarily the guys fault but the girl is blaming him so she doesn't ahve to face the fact that mayb it was her fault not his
-
We obviously know right from the beginning his use of past tense exemplifies that the relationship he was in was great, but ended. I believe however that the main message of the song is not just to mention that his relationship died. I think the artist wants his audience to realize that relationships may seem great in the beginning, but you never know how its going to work out until you've spent time with them.
When the song reads, "In the beginning we had nothing to hide" the artist is conveying that you must be trustworthy in a relationship as well which ends up making him not care about her anymore. Basically, "if you can't be trustworthy why would I remain with you" is what he's trying to say.
BROAD MEANING- I feel as if the artist is saying you must overcome obstacles in a relationship to make it last, or both partners lose interest and everything goes to shit. We each have different ways of interpreting this piece but this is my most general interpretation. -
Its simply about a screwed over relationship. He tried to make it work,it didn't and she blames him for the way it ended.
