Three Days Grace: Let You Down Meaning
Let You Down Lyrics
There’s no need to fear
Everyone’s here
Waiting for you to finally be one of us
Come down...
You may be full of fear
But you’ll be safe here
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me
I will let you down
I’ll let you...

I love this song! I think he is talking about being let down by people who you thought they would never because of their many sweet words and promises!

To me it sounds like he's talking about religion, and how he's been let down by it. He talks about how everyone's waiting for him to become part like them, he could be referring to assimilation into some sort of religious group. He also mentions finally believing in someone only to be let down by them, again that could refer to a religious leader who he feels lied to him or led him astray.

I think that this song is about peer pressure, particularly through drug abuse. When somebody is pressured into trying drugs for the first time, they're almost always scared. But of course, the people pressuring you will tell you that ther is nothing to fear, that it's safe. Then, when you start doing the drugs, you get let down. It's not safe. And it is very scary. Eventually, you'll become addicted and never want to come down from that high. But it isn't until you finally believe them, that they let you down.

This song is very mixed emotional and its a type of song were it means something different to everyone.
