30 Seconds To Mars: The Kill Meaning
Song Released: 2006
The Kill Lyrics
Laugh it all off in your face
What would you do? (Oh, oh)
What if I fell to the floor
Couldn't take this anymore
What would you do, do, do?
Come break me down
Marry me, bury me
I am finished with you
What if...

The director of ''the shining'' is Stanley Kubrick, not Stephen King, and I agree with the fact that they took the idea of the film, which took place in hotel.I think the group tried to relate the video to the film in order to make us understand the real meaning of the song. The lyrics say it all, it's about going crazy and looking for who you really are, fighting with something else(inside of yourself)... That's pretty deep but that's also what this film's all about. The principal character, Jack Nicholson, goes totally insane. If you haven't seen it, rent it!!! It's a total work of art!!

The interpretation I have is that this song is about himself and (no one else) mainly his past , its a plit personality song where one talks to himself , noow clearly this Alubum is about a past being forgotten and with "the kill" in the album you can't fully understand the song unless you hear their whole album its a message their sending of a new start with struggles . The kill is one of the struggles of it with the man vs mind kind of theory . He is clearly singing a song with his concience "what if I wanted to break ..." and all the other verses in this song is his negative concience asking him what if he went a certain road . and the chorus is His response to his conscience . " I tried to be comeone else but nothing seem to change .." that whole part and basically him argueing with his conscience .. More or likely for simlicity think of it sort of as when he screams = Himself When its softly sung = Conscience o.o ... lol this song rocks enjoy it

for those who say, "its about a girlfriend trying to change her bf. "
i don't think that's it at all
have you seen the f***ing video
its about having a battle with yourself.
how sometimes you just can't stand yourself.
and the only person you have a problem with is you
its about being all alone
finding yourself.
BATTLING YOURSELF. -
the song is about losing your mind mr. leto said it himself.
but ill agree with everyone else this song is dedicated
to a girl. Its a hate song he is telling the
girl in the simplest words to
fuck off that he doesn't care for her
anymore and things like that
everyone who listens to what music says and
not just to how it sounds would have figured
that out the 3th time they listened to this song

I feel the song is about wanting something so bad but don't know how to get it.Someone you want very much but they think your not good enough when you know things could work out but I guess somethings are never meant to be and that really sucks.

About the person who wanted to know about the video, the video is based on one of the coolest movies ever made "the shining" by Stephen King, yes, a horror.

This is the the dude a few posts above me,
it's not
"marry me, bury me"
it's
"bury me, bury me."
the song is about one's relationship with one's self. -
I think the song could actually have a lot to do with jared leto's career as a musician. Both the song and video kind of made me think that he's getting tired of being the 'musician' and 'himself' as well.
In the video, there are two of him at the hotel they go to in order to take a break. One in a tux (representing the musician) and one in casual clothes. And they're fighting, like it's pulling him apart to be two people at once.
I dunno, that's how I saw it. -
I think this song is a battle w/ himself. If you watch the video and listen to the words...There are two of every person and they're both a bit different.
